In a Franciscan publication I recently saw some excerpts of the famous magazine St. Maximilian Kolbe spent a large portion of his life distributing, the “Knight of the Immaculate.”

I am wondering if anyone has kept these rather priceless spiritual writings archived somewhere and available for access. The one that I read involved St. Maxmilian converting a group of atheists on a train ride. It was pretty spectacular stuff, and apparently some of the articles, many of which he had to jot out in rushed moments before the printer snatched it from his hands, were full of brilliant theological insights.

If anyone knows where any or all of these might be found, please post the information. I appreciate it.

As no one has replied and this has been lost in the archives, I move it once more to the top. Maybe there is someone on the forum from Poland who would know, or someone familiar with the Franciscans and any archives they keep in this respect?

I believe all the extent writings, published and unpublished of a candidate for sainthood are gathered and given to those working on the cause, so I assume the Vatican has these materials in their files.

I don’t know if old magazine articles is what you are looking for, but I did find this site:

There are several biographies of St Max K. and that story is referenced in one of them. I read it some years ago but can not remember which one.

Maybe if you wrote to the publisher and described with as much specifics as possible which article you are interested in, they may be able to find it for you.

The story referenced in the first post is from a book titled Kolbe, Saint of the Immaculata.

The book was written by a group of Franciscans, and in it, they referenced a few stories from the magazines St. Maximilian used to produce with his brother Franciscans.

I would be surprised if writings of that stature by a saint were NOT made available in some form to the general public. The writings of many other great saints are perfectly visible to the public eye, and St. Maximilian’s canonization caused has obviously by now ended, leaving little conceivable rationale for concealing documents in the Vatican or whatever other hypothesis was presented as to why they are difficult to locate.
