First I would like to acknowledge all the post and pray for healing for everyone!..I am having a very difficult time in my life. I feel as though the more negative thoughts that come into my mind the more I am inclined to experience what I throw out there. I really need to get off this roller coaster of negative events as I was once a happy person. I could really use some friends of faith and some healing prayers. I am a 44 year old female. I have a lung nodule as some of you already know. I am scared to death of any form of cancer. But mostly I am scared to death. I do not know how I can have faith and yet fear death. I am embarrassed. To fear death is to fear life. I have had numerous tragic events as of late from my lung nodule to finding out those around be are dyeing of a similar situation which puts me in panic mode. Also, last week my spouse was involved in a tragic work accident that caused the death of a fellow Co-Worker. This was deemed a Tragic storm accident and could have happened to anyone in my spouses position. My spouse is beside himself with pain and has night mares of the event and can not stop blaming himself. My mother and family have not been much of a support as my mother suffers from chronic depression.( My whole life) I am not really sure what I am asking for other that healing and a true miracle for my family. Thank you all for helping me get through this trying time in my life. God bless !😦

I pray God sends healing to your lung and emotional healing for you & your husband. Amen. :signofcross:

I struggle with depression, too. I have such compassion for you. Ask St. Dymphna to pray for you. She has been a powerful prayer partner with me regarding my mental health.

So sorry to hear about all this. I will remember you in my prayers.

Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done on earth
as it is in heaven.
Give us this day
our daily bread, and
forgive us our trespasses as we
forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but
deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women, and
blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, mother of God,
pray for us sinners, now and at
the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and
to the Son, and
to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning,
is now, and
ever shall be,
world without end. Amen.

Praying for your health & recovery & praying for you & your husband’s intentions.

I have been having a lot of negative thoughts and a doctor is telling me to focus on my breathing. To sit in a chair with hands folded across my stomach and to breathe through my nose and breathe from my diaphragm. Surprisingly it is helping me to feel calmer so I can think productively and not negatively. As soon as a bad thought comes in my mind I concentrate on my breathing instead of the bad thinking trying to rob me of my peace.

I hope this helps. Praying for your intentions and maybe your husband can benefit from the breathing exercises also.

Praying for you–God’s love and peace to you & yours. (And for you, too, 7 Sorrows. 🙂 ) :hug1:

Dear Father,
I’m coming to You today as a tiny child.
One who too often tries to hold all of her belongings alone.
The burden is too large to bear…
My frail shoulders weaken with the weight
And my heart grows anxious.

You said we would have trouble in this world.
But You also said: Take heart;
I have overcome the world.
Would you help me remember
that You are the Overcomer
while I am the overwhelmed?

Would you give me the grace to accept my own limitations
And the faith to accept your unlimited power?
Would you reveal your incredible love once again
that I might soak up its glory?

For it is when your love and power and glory
saturate my spirit
that I am revolutionized
from overwhelmed
To overjoyed!

In Jesus’ Name, I pray.
Amen.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Prayer to Saint Maximilian Maria Kolbe

St. Maximilian, amidst the hate and lonely misery of Auschwitz, you brought love into the lives of fellow captives and sowed the seeds of hope amidst despair. You bore witness to the world by word and deed that “Love alone creates.” Help me to become more like you. With the Church and Mary and you, may I proclaim that “Love alone creates.” To the hungry and oppressed, the naked and homeless, the scorned and hated, the lonely and despairing, may I proclaim the power of Christ’s love, which endures forever and ever. Amen.

For Help in Trials

Most holy apostle St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved Master into the hands of His enemies has caused you to be forgotten by many. But the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases–of things despaired of. Pray for me who feels so hopeless. Make use, I implore you, of that particular privilege accorded to you of bringing visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need, that I may receive the consolations and succor of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, in particular Von55, and that I may bless God with you and all the elect throughout eternity. I promise you, O Blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will never cease to honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to do all in my power to encourage devotion to you. Amen.

Prayer for a Miracle

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal Von55. You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into Von55’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Gosh! A lot is going on lately! When it rains, it pours! You’ve been slammed with so many things hitting at once. Sounds scary!

😦

This is for you…:coffee: Well, it can be coffee, tea, or hot chocolate, whichever you prefer.

Then, there’s this…:hug1:

If you need these, they are here, too…:tissues:

I give these out over the internet, since it’s a little hard for me to do so in person.

Okay.

Anyway, you hit on several issues.

Insofar as fearing death, I believe most of us do. There’s nothing to be ashamed of there. At least you can admit it, which I think is to your credit.

I’ve had thyroid cancer, but I think I sort of always stayed in almost like denial the whole time.

As to your husband and that tragic work accident, he sounds like he is experiencing a kind of “survivor’s guilt”…like a post traumatic stress type deal. Now, there **IS **treatment available. There is counseling and medication. There might even be support groups also available. Unless one checks into it, though, one wouldn´t realize it.

My father had “survivor’s guilt” from WWII, even, when he lived and his friends died. On some level, he felt VERY guilty for living! It happens. We sometimes ask ourselves why we didn´t die, instead. Even at the end of his life, he would cry over his guilt. I wish he would have gone and talked to someone, but he wasn´t much one to talk out his problems. He preferred to try to “tough it out”, “go it alone”, but that’s often not necessary to suffer like that.

I hope your mother would consider getting treatment for her depression if she isn´t already.

As to yourself, would you consider getting treatment, counseling since you’ve had a rough year? I think you deserve some support. A lot of times one’s health insurance will often cover at least a few visits.

My main suggestion to you would be for you NOT to try to tackle everything by yourselves, to seek help and support. That’s what it’s there for!

Sometimes, even if a counselor can do nothing, but listen, this can be extraordinarily therapeutic to have the opportunity to vent, hash one’s problems out with some neutral party who is sworn to confidentiality with experience in these matters, knowledgeable about resources, etc., believe it or not.

With our family and friends, we can often not want to burden them with our problems. Counseling is the ideal place to “let it all hang out”!

Your family is probably grieving in a bunch of ways. So, my :twocents: is to get support if you believe you can, not believe you have to be alone in this matter…because you don’t.

Good luck with whatever you do, and God bless you, and your family!

Gracious and merciful Father, please come to their assistance.

Hi Von,

Prayers said for you and your family.

I am so sorry for everything that you and your husband and family are going through.

Yes, it does seem sometimes that everything goes wrong all at once, and keeps piling up on us.

May God bless all of you during this challenging time for you. :console:

I ask our heavenly Mother to wrap you in her love, grant you courage to face the trials of any medical treatment required and to fill you with peace and contentment. I ask St Mary McKillop to intercede to our heavenly Father to reduce your burdens and make them bearable. I praise God for your compassion and endurance in recognizing the difficulties of others and to richly bless those who you care about and support. May our Saviour carry you through moments of self doubt, trials and difficulty to keep you afloat. Thank you for sharing your difficulties may this lighten your load.

Praying for you. I have no doubt that you are consumed with anxiety and negativity. I have suffered from this a lot when life spins me out of control. I do not know what you are doing to help alleviate your pain right now, but here is how I help manage mine:

Natural Remedies (i.e. lavender, passionflower, etc.) - I drink tea and use the oils to help me sleep.

Exercise - AT LEAST 21 minutes every day. That’s about how long it takes to reduce anxious tension.

Positive Thinking – It takes TEN good thoughts to replace ONE bad thought. Whenever I start thinking negatively about situations, I turn to my Pinterest board where I have positive quotes and such and I repeat them to myself.

Counseling - This is a big one. It is so difficult to take that first step and go, in fact, it’s difficult for me to go EVERY time, but there is nothing to be ashamed about here. It can truly be beneficial to you. A trained professional will be able to help you deal with your current situations (trust me - they’ve seen MANY people in similar shoes).

Healthy eating - Bad food only does bad things. Eat natural foods: a lot of fruits, vegetables, nuts, fish, good fats, etc. Get rid of any processed, chemical-laden food.

Prayer, Prayer, Prayer - I notice that when I’m consumed by detrimental thinking and anxieties that I am also distancing myself from God. The fact that you’re here tells me you are at least trying to make your way back (if you ever even left). There are several verses you can repeat to yourself when you are overcome with worry.

Matthew 11:28-30
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Colossians 3:15
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.

2 Thessalonians 3:16
Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.

Psalm 55:22
Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall.

Proverbs 12:25
An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up.

Philippians 4:6-7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

1 Peter 5:6-8
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

Psalm 23:4
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Hebrews 13:5-6
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”

Psalm 56:3
When I am afraid, I will trust in you.

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
