How much do you need for a firm purpose of amendment?

If I don’t want to commit a certain sin again, I don’t plan on committing it again, but I know that if I am put into a certain situation, I probably will commit the sin again, is that having a firm purpose of amendment?

Firm purpose of amendment would include not only not wanting to commit the sin ever again, but avoiding the near occasion of sin, such as the situation or person that could make you sin.

Knowledge of your own weakness is not an impediment to a firm purpose of amendment.

But you have to be willing to reform your life, change your ways, alter something. You have to be willing to avoid the near occasion of sin. Try to avoid whatever situation you are referring to in your post.
