First class relic replacement - help?

My brother “lost” (with the “assistance” of several children, including mine) the two First Class Maria Goretti relics that he had received many years ago. He believes that he received a miracle healing from her when he was five years old, and his case was submitted to the Vatican towards her canonization. His was not one of the ones selected and used in the process, but nonetheless, the very submittal indicates the strength of his belief and that of our parents.

In any case, I am looking to find replacements of those relics for him. Does anyone know how to go about this? Where to look, whom to ask, is this even possible?

Dear Cath-Athiest,

Probably impossible. The church usually does not distribute First Class relics for private devotion. If you belong to a Traditional Catholic parish and can find a priest to work with you, he night be able get one through their seminary. If you go to your local diocesan church, they may look at you like you have 2 heads.

If you find one on ebay, you have no guarantee its authentic. Third and Fourth Class are easy to obtain. You can also go to Nettuno and touch your rosary to her tomb and you will have a 4th class relic.
 
I really don’t know how you managed to obtain the first class relics in the first place because by definition that would have been a piece of the actual saint, such as a fragment of bone. As mentioned above, the Church does not issue first class relics for private devotion. First class relics are rare because there is only so much of a saint’s remains that can go around - a very finite resource…

However, it seems you have received a great blessing from that saint and that would be more precious than even a first class relic.
 
What a singular disaster indeed…I have had the very very good fortune of finding a third class relic of the Little Flower in my nanna’s prayer book…and that is a minute scrap of cloth touched to her physical relics. First class relics are as stated in previous posts extremely rare and not often to be found in private hands…I suggest a novena to St Jude.
