First Communion - A Long Time Ago

Hi all, I first should mention that I am a bit scrupulous.

I made my First Communion many years ago, but I really can’t remember having a First Confession before that, and I don’t know if I need to do something about that. I have been to Confession many times since then, but I just wanted to make sure that I don’t have to do anything special. I wouldn’t want my reception of the Eucharist to be invalid in any way. Thanks!

Being scroupulous is not the same as having a scrupulosity disorder.

Since confession is integral, any confession includes the time from baptism till then. If you do not remember intentionally not confessing a serious sin, then you are ok, otherwise confess it next time.
 
Did you make your First Communion as a child? You most certainly did go to confession before it in that case, even though it doesn’t jump out now in your mind. I can remember my First Communion vividly, I can barely remember my first confession, about the only thing I remember confessing is that I flipped some kid’s books on the way to school!

And if you came into the Church as an adult and went through RCIA, part of that process is making a first time confession.

Yes, it was as a child, but I have no memory of having done it. But you’re probably right that I just forgot.
