Does anyone know where I could purchase a blue armband for my son’s First Communion? I’ve seen the white ones with the bows sold online, but I’ve also seen pictures of the blue ones dedicated to Mary, and I really would like one of those for him. I just haven’t been able to find them sold anywhere.
Thank you!!
God bless,
Michele

Easy enough to make surely? Show me the URL and I will teach you or if you are near enough send you one? LOVE doing things like that! Bless you!

That is an amazing offer (to teach or even make - whichever you can do is MORE than appreciated!!! I live in Buffalo, NY and the First Communion is on May 7th.)

… THANK YOU! Here is the URL with the picture:

google.com/search?q=first+holy+communion+blue+armband&espv=2&biw=1242&bih=585&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiO4YfixZbPAhVJzIMKHbiaACUQsAQIIg&dpr=1.1#imgrc=oBZ4u7-AaXwPUM%3A

…and here is the other one.

They aren’t the most clearest of pictures, but I really like this armband so much more than the white ones with the bows … and I like the dedication to Our Blessed Mother!

Thank you!!!

Michele

Traditionally white.

Traditionally white.
Yes, it is.

OP, not to burst your bubble, but you may want to check with your parish before going any further. Some parishes want everyone dressing alike. Meaning all dark suits, all white arm bands.

As an aside, unless your son has some unusually strong attachment to the Blessed Mother, perhaps you should just let him be like everyone else, as this is **his ** first communion.

Yes. Definitely inquire what the dress code is for your parish. My pastor is very firm on this.

Sent you a private message… Blessings and peace

I will join the chorus of those counseling the Original Poster to consult the parish priest about what he allows and also what he does not allow…or the Original Poster and his son could both find themselves in a very avoidable predicament.

Thank you, everyone for your time and feedback.

Our parish does not have a dress code requiring the First Communicants to wear similar colors/dress. …and yes- where it is my son’s sacramental celebration, my husband and I - as his primary educators of the faith - do guide him and inform him on many matters. Being only 8 years old, he does not know what options are out there for these kinds of celebrations - he is not aware of any arm bands at all (white bows or blue bands). Also - knowing my son, he would not necessarily be keen on the white bow, but would like the blue band - especially as dedicating him to Our Lady on this amazingly special day. 🙂

Also, I did speak to our pastor this morning, and he thought a blue armband dedicating my son to Our Blessed Mother was a fantastic idea. 🙂 In fact, he wants me to do a write-up describing the arm band and its significance to give it to our school’s Principal and the parish’s Faith Formation director to see make other parents aware of it.

Rosebud77 … Thank you! I will reply back to your private message!

Have a beautiful and blessed rest of your day, everyone!!

God bless,
Michele
