I just came into the Church this past Easter Vigil. I was baptized, confirmed, and received Holy Communion.
I was being really careful about sin and making sure I never put myself into a vulnerable situation. Basically, I slipped up. I missed Mass while I was traveling in Europe. That’s all it took.
Before I knew it my first mortal sin since my baptism had snowballed out of control, taking two other commandments with it. A week later some “impure” acts were committed between my boyfriend and I. A week after that, excessive drinking.
I need to go ASAP just to nip this snowball in the bud. Only problem is, I’m REALLY anxious about going and have no idea what it will be like.
How specific should I get when talking about different sexual acts? Must I differentiate between them if they all fall under the umbrella of fornication? And does anyone have a better word than “fornication?” It just sounds weird. Can’t I just say that we had sex and have that cover it all?
Please help me by giving me some details of what to expect. Everything I found online is so generic.
