I finally got my mom to not let her Cafeteria Catholic style impinge on me! She’s driving me tomorrow. And once I get there I wanna make sure I do it validly and not withholding anything. Need some prayers here guys!

Tell the priest this and he will definitely be very gentle with you, as they are anyway , Fr will ask you any questions if he is unsure of what you mean so do not worry, the feeling after coming out of Confession is such a great experience don’t be surprised if you start crying, this is normal and natural so bring a hankie, but the feeling is something else, like coming out of the washing machine washed and dried.
Go for it and may the Lord give you all the Graces you need. This act of yours is telling the Lord I do Love you.

Prayer to St. Gerard Majella for a good confession

St. Gerard, Patron of a Good Confession, who gave courage to souls whom fear and shame had overcome; who gave sorrow to their hearts, resolution to their wills, truth to their faltering lips.

Enable fuisiontron to know his/her sins, to be truly sorry for them, and to be firmly resolved, with God’s grace, never to sin again.

Help him/her to confess humbly and sincerely, to confess them in the spirit of faith, as confessing them to Our Lord Himself.

Stand by me in this Confession, O gentle Saint, so that I can be freed from all my sins. Amen.

Made a valid confession. And then proceeded to take Communion for the first time in 7 years as I went right from Confession to Mass! My only concern is that at my previous last valid Confession 2 years ago (or maybe the one 1 year before that) I confessed I desecrated a host by eating it under mortal sin. Apparently this excommunication material but the priest said nothing? So I’m good? Also, in 8th grade when I was a super idiot I ate a host under mortal sin at Confirmation, could that have invalidated my Confirmation?

Anyways just a couple more answers and thanks guys. I had to confess some borderline illegal stuff. Might even have been illegal but the priest did not suggest I turn myself in. I live a hard life and I told him about my family life and I think he saw why I did what I did as an attempt to fulfill a need my family was not meeting for me.
