Here’s hoping I don’t give away too many personal details…

When I was leaving work yesterday, I finally said “Enough putting this off” and walked into a church that has 4:30 pm Confessions.

First, I was amazed and a little put off by the size of the line, but after nervously standing in line for a few minutes, a great calm came over me and I realized that there was no turning back and I was really going to do this. I listened to the parishoners pray the Rosary while I kept count of the few sins that I MUST not forget when I finally get in there.

When my time came, it couldn’t have been better. I went face-to-face and had a really understanding Priest listen to my confession, even though he was short on time (Mass was about to begin.)

I stayed for Mass and received Communion for the first time in years and I don’t think I’ve stopped smiling since.

On a side-note, I had to drive all over town to find a store that was selling Rosary’s. I forgot to plan ahead for Penance 🙂

Anyhow, I just wanted to thank everyone on this forum. Reading these posts has helped give me the strength to come back to the church.

GOD Bless YOU!!!
Welcome back. Now keep it up and God will give you the Grace to continue.
Get a brown scapular as well. Wearing it will help you remember how brave you were!

Good Job!
