I love Confession but I still get a stomache before I go. I always feel better after, it’s just like having to go to Dad and tell him I messed up and I’m sorry :imsorry: . I have alot of respect for my Dad so when it come to our heavenly Father I can’t tell you how bad I feel.Hence the stomache. I can’t even count how many times the tears started rolling. I feel sorry for the priest! He always trys to comfort me, but I know once I’m finished I’m ok.

My sister has issues with Confession so she doesn’t go. Her and I are alot alike, both of us are sensitive. Anyway I noticed a long time ago that she’s physically and mentally ill alot! I mentioned to her that maybe, just maybe her sins are making her ill. Our sins have a way of working up to the surface.

Anyway congatulations on your first Confession! Isn’t it cool? It’s also cheaper then a psychologist!😛

Im just going to my first confession now, after 14 years away.

Hi, I just want to say that God loves everyone because everone is his child. He never curse but bless.

That is interesting phraseology you use. GK Chesterton calls psychotherapy the securlar world’s (and more inferior) version of confession.

Also, Carl Jung once commented that his practice in Catholic Austria did not do so well because people had confession.

Jesus is psychologist par excellence. He knew we will need to unburden all that guilt so He gave us confession. He knew we need to hear that we have been forgiven.

People just don’t realize the grace that comes from this sacrament.

LOL. I once watched Angela’s Ashe’s, the movie. There’s this funny line where he said “Forgive me Father for I have sinned… it’s been aaaaages since my last confession”

I’ve used that line once or twice when I just don’t remember and I know I haven’t confessed for a really, REALLY long time.

With love and grace,

I have a memory like a sieve. I like to say that my memory doesn’t work very well, but my “forgetter” is excellent. So I keep a sticky note in my Bible, and write the date of my last confession in it, right after I say my penance. That way, I don’t have to guess how long it’s been.

Of course, if I went once a week, I wouldn’t have to worry…

Something else important, from CCC 1469:
In this sense it does not simply heal the one restored to ecclesial communion, but has also a revitalizing effect on the life of the Church which suffered from the sin of one of her members.
So, perhaps some of the problems in the Church today come from the lack of Confession?

All glory is the Lord’s.

I went to my first Confession last year and was more embarrassed than afraid. But I did it, and it was very nice. I remember my Confession around Advent - the Monsignor was so soothing and he has such a loving voice, that it almost felt like Jesus Himself was vocally responding to my sins! I left the room, went over to the Nativity scene and bawled because I was so filled with the Holy Spirit and God’s willingness to forgive us, no matter what.👍
