First Confession tonight

I am 47 years old and will be participating in my first confession tonight. Please pray for our Lord to guide me through this.

I think that the difficult part is actually over. I have given much thought to the Examination of Conscience. It was very hard to look back at my life and reflect on some of the things I have done.

I will be willing to pray too! I just had my first confession last Saturday. I can’t tell you how wonderful you are going to feel afterwords. Such relief came over me and waterfalls of acceptance and forgiveness. In one confession I was moved and changed more so than in all my years of therapy.
I was given hope, along with absolution. I pray that you will have a similar experience.

PS the priest was soft on giving the penance since it was the first time 🙂

Thank you to all for your prayers. What an evening. There were 6 candidates in our RCIA group that took part in a special reconciliation service tonight.
This was the first confession for both my wife and I. We were both moved by this experience. I feel so thankful that we have a Lord who is so merciful and loving.
