What are people’s opinions on tje Luminous Mysteries as part of the First Gove Daturdays devotion Rosary and 15 minutes meditation requirements?

As Our Lady only mentioned the Joyfull, Glorious and Sorrowful mysteries as part of the requirements (as the Luminous didn’t exist then) is it OK to say the Luminous mysteries or meditate on them as part of the requirements for this devotion? Logically you would think so, but is it?

How could anyone really think the Blessed Mother would be upset if we meditated on her Son’s Baptism, Miracle at Cana, Proclamation of the Kingdom, Transfiguration, and Institution of the Eucharist?

Mary is not God, and the Rosary is from private revelation and traditional psalm-reciting, so there is no binding of anything. It is not like someone is trying to alter the Ten Commandments or mess with some doctrine and the Rosary is not part of Sacred Tradition. People add prayers to the end of the rosary all the time.

Your instinct is right–it is perfectly acceptable.

One should meditate on his whole life story, not just the beginning and the end! Include them!

Pope John Paul II introduced the Luminous Mysteries. He’s now a Saint, and he loved Mary and credited her with saving him when he was shot.
So yes, I think she would be quite pleased with meditation on Luminous Mysteries and/or praying the Rosary while meditating on them.

I meditated on them during part of the 15-minute meditation and my devotional group included them instead of the Glorious Mysteries in the 15-decade Rosary we said.

i love the luminous mysteries; a wonderful addition to the rosary

thank you to the Holy Spirit for adding them…

For me, the Luminous mysteries are extremely important to me. They help us to became more aware of the Holy Spirit, that we may have faith like Mary’s, prayers for having hearts that will listen to the voice of the Lord, to pay greater attention at mass and that we may long for the food which lasts.

It is vital that all the mysteries are meditated on during the week. Every single mystery is just as important as all others.
