First Five Saturdays Devotion Help

Hello!

Recently, I consecrated myself to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. I knew ahead of time that it would be impossible for me to completely fulfill the First Five Saturdays Devotion as I have no way to get Communion on Saturdays. So, I talked it over with Mary and I decided to do the other three parts of the devotion on Saturday, but get Communion on Sunday and offer it up for the Immaculate Conception’s intention. My problem is, I was not able to go to Confession today, so I can’t receive Communion tomorrow (I don’t believe I am in the state of grace), and now I can’t fully fulfill the devotion, and I worry that I’ve offended Our Mother. Thank you!

Do your best, and that’s all anybody can do. You can’t go to communion if you are in doubt as to whether you are in a state of grace. If this devotion is to hard for you to complete due to all the scheduling problems, may I recommend another devotion which would be easier for you to fulfill.

What about Divine Mercy or 7 Sorrows of Mary or some other worthy devotion? There are numerous ways to both honor God and Mary. I, also, love the First Five Saturday Devotion, but if I couldn’t do it for some reason, I think I would try something else, then.

Praise God for consecrating yourself to our Blessed Mother. She understands your situation and only desires just what you are doing … wanting to do what is best…it is the heart that matters most. Receive communion at the next possible opportunity and you will be fine. She loves you and sees your concern in wanting to not offend. Do NOT give up this devotion at all. Remember also that the evil one does NOT, I repeat NOT like those who make this consecration and often tries to divert us so please know how special this is and continue. I made the same consecration 2 years ago. It is so very important and I want to encourage you!!
