First Friday Adoration

My parish wants all the Eucharistic ministers to attend this Fridays Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. I never been to one before. So I am wondering if there is a set way to go about adoring the blessed sacrament.

not really just go in with a loving heart.

the only thing you have to do is during benediction, they will probably start to say tantrum ergo, or down in adoration falling.

but other then this time feel free to be in any position you feel like is appropriate for prayer.

Just remember that you are in the presence of Jesus Christ himself in the form of bread. If you remember that it will affect the way you do adoration.

its really not that difficult, I wouldn’t be surprised if they tell you some things to do before it begins.

You can pray, read the Bible or read other spiritual books or just… well… adore him.

I don’t know if all parishes do this, but mine do. During adoration, when we enter or leave the pew, we genuflect on both knees.

Tantum Ergo

Tantum ergo are the opening words of the last two verses of Pange Lingua, a Mediaeval Latin hymn written by St Thomas Aquinas. These last two verses are sung during veneration and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament in the Roman Catholic Church and other churches that practice this devotion. It is usually sung, though solemn recitation is sometimes done, and permitted.

English translation

A translation over a hundred years old and still used in Catholic churches liturgically renders the hymn thus, in a form which can be sung to the same music as the Latin:

Down in adoration falling,
Lo! the sacred Host we hail,
Lo! o’er ancient forms departing
Newer rites of grace prevail;
Faith for all defects supplying,
Where the feeble senses fail.

To the everlasting** Father**,
And the **Son Who **reigns on high
With the **Holy Ghost **proceeding
Forth from Each eternally,
Be salvation, honor, blessing,
Might and endless majesty.
Amen.

V. Thou hast given them Bread from heaven.

many churches will use the tandem ergo itself not the english translation

When I go to Eucharistic Adoration, I usually say the Rosary. I also like to sit quietly and do some inner reflection or just listen. Like catholictiger said, go in with a loving heart, and God will do the rest.

I have been to some Adortions, when the Church had them. I would stay their if, no show up to make sure that no one would try to take it from the Alter,I would stay two hrs if needed. I,am going to try to get the Priest to have it from time, to time again. I miss
going to Adoration. Wish me well, that he will let it Happen again.

If I get the priest to have it again for at lease a couple of hrs, I would sacitace my time ,so that people will be able to come and show Adoration to Jesus on the Alter. We must come back to,showing we LOVE him, so that when Jesus come at the end, he will fine people still Fatihful to his Name.

I will leave it in the hands of God ,who created me.
We have one church that has Adoration, but I have no way to get to it, it,s far from me.
So I ,am going to put my Faith in Jesus,and Hope, it will happen.
