Hey so I am in the middle of a first fridays devotion. Unfortunately, a snow storm hit near me and I will probably not be able to go tommorow to recieve FF.

If I recieve Saturday instead, can I count it as FF? Is there any apparition in which Jesus talks about this possibly? As I know with the first saturdays Christ told Sr. Lucia that confession could take place in the surrounding days and it need not be on the Saturday itself.

If anyone has any sources thatd be great too!

Thanks

Generally, if something is possible, is not enforced. I do not believe missing a First Friday devotion due to unsafe driving conditions would count against you.

While we can’t know for sure if Jesus would give someone a break on not being able to receive on the actual Friday for whatever reason, we do know that in order to be certain, it has to be on the Friday.

The only thing you can do is hope that he would accept your communion received on another day, and keep keeping first Fridays.

First Friday is a devotion, not a magic ticket to ensure heaven.

The practice of the devotion is to attend Mass and receive the Eucharist on First Fridays. If you make it your devotion, you’ll succeed in making nine consecutive First Fridays before you know it.

Mass attendance isn’t required for First Friday, only receiving communion. Normally one goes to Mass, but if this is impossible, one can request to receive communion outside of Mass using the prescribed rite. This was quite common back when there were restrictions on what time Mass was allowed during the day and people who couldn’t attend Mass because of work.

Correct, which is why if it’s Good Friday, one may ask to receive Holy Communion outside of Mass, which is not celebrated on that day.

The point is, it’s a devotion, not just a do nine first Fridays and your salvation is guaranteed and not stay with the devotion to the Sacred Heart, which is where it all came from.
