That’s simply not true. The Thuggee* promoted ritual strangulation of their victims to the goddess Kali. This group are better know through the portrayal of them in the (appalling) film Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

“Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” is fiction. It was made up for entertainment purposes (though I don’t see what is so entertaining about cutting somebody’s heart out). Do you believe everything you see in the movies?

I don’t say that how they are portrayed in the film is real, only that to most Americans they probably would know of this group through the film.

Just as I might say that most people don’t know what a bull-roarer is, but may have seen one used in Crocodile Dundee II. To you though the fact that I mention this means you think that I believe Crocodile Dundee must be real:p

Your interjection though has been entertaining.
