Hi all my background is varied but essentially Anglican and Lutheran. These are churches I explored/ attended and personally I found that I was looking for something “like Catholicism”. I was concerned by info I had gotten second hand mostly about being a divorcee. I finally came to a point of dissatisfaction with avoiding the Church. I have been in contact with a parish priest who seems pretty knowledgeable and was able to answer the questions I had so I could move beyond fear of the unknown. Tomorrow I’ll be attending my first Mass and speaking with ,I guess the person coordinating RCIA here. Any tips about mass or what I might expect from RCIA which starts next month?

Given a Lutheran and/or Anglican background you should be used to the whole idea of liturgical worship and many/much of the forms will seem familiar.

My advice is to call the office about RCIA unless they have a posted time in the bulliten to meet for Q+A or the session. But in general RCIA is pretty simple, a process that seems long all the way to Easter ?! ] when you start but goes very fast.

Welcome home… I walked the same path you are last year.

I am in RCIA right now. It is a great group of people who fellowship and learn the teachings of the church. It has been a huge blessing. I too am divorced and have been treated with much grace in the church.

Go tomorrow ready to have a truly beautiful experience. I came from an evangelical background and was so moved by liturgical worship. It was so refreshing to go and humble myself before God and worship him as opposed to going to see the best preacher or the best rock worship show which was how my churches were growing up.
