Well, the first one in over 25 years.

Boy, am I nervous.

Prayers appreciated.

Gotta go.

Prayers for you. I am meeting someone at Church today after our first CCD class of the year who may or may not have been at a Mass before. I do know she is nervous so, by the same token, pray for her and me that I may be as welcoming as I can with her and try to introduce her to some other young Catholics!

I need to see when the next RCIA starts so I can guide her to that, even go with her if necessary, between myself and our mutual friend we should be able to help her on this journey.

Hey! Same kinda situation here.

Hope it all goes well for you.
Keep praying and celebrating mass. It will benefit you greatly.

Don’t forget to tell us all how it went 👍

Welcome home, from someone who was away for 21 years - that first Mass was an incredible joy.

It was great. 🙂 Except for the fact that I kept sliding on the kneelers and had a little trouble hearing Fr. Timothy. 😦

I also had longer hair of any of the men and a lot of the ladies.

I’ll check on the RCIA course after next week’s Mass. I had to tell one of the guys doing crowd control that I hadn’t been confirmed. I hope that was the right word.

Im going into RCIA classes soon too!

I wouldnt worry about the hair, unless it is a personal thing you have been meaning to do for a long while. I dont see whats wrong; most pictures of Jesus show him with long hair! 😉

I hope the classes go well and smooth for you.

But as for the confirmed thing, you might want to change that, because the person you told might think you have recieved a trinitarian baptism and want to become confirmed and then recieve holy communion.

Which might be way off. If you have been baptised in the name of the father and son and holy spirit then I’m sure you only need to be confirmed and then recieve HC. If you haven’t (this includes mormons and JW’s baptisms, or no baptism at all) then you will need to be baptized before you are confirmed and then can recieve HC.

I might be way off, but Im 95% sure im right in this. Either way, I hope all goes well on your journey. 🙂

Good luck. 🙂

I don’t look good with short hair.

Historically speaking, those are most likely inaccurate depictions. Most western representations of our Lord are. Research the name Cesare Borgia. Use Wikipedia if you like, I’m not prejudiced against it.
I hope the classes go well and smooth for you.
As I hope yours do. 🙂

I think he understood. Boy, I feel like such a noob. :o

It’s a long story. Short version:

It was 1978 at age in a First Baptist church. The church I belonged to, which technically doesn’t exist any more (although the name is currently being used by another Baptist church) borrowed another church building and they did the immersion thing. I can’t remember what the pastor said though.

As do I.

Even though I enjoyed myself, I do believe I am going to check with a local parish offering the traditional Latin Mass. Here’s the website for you to check out: St. Gertrude The Great.

Thank you, preV2tradcath. 🙂

Bad news, I’m afraid. St. Peter’s is not offering an RCIA course this year. 😦

It may turn out to be good news. I wasn’t terribly impressed with the feel of the Mass.

However, there’s one north of me that offers the Latin Mass: Our Lady of the Holy Rosary. It’s FSSP, Fr. Mark Wojdelski (can’t pronounce it  ) is the priest, and it’s got weekday noontime Masses. I like that last part. 🙂

I sent off the form today. I hope Fr. Mark calls soon.
