Hello, fellow Catholics.

I’ve been reading your posts here for quite some now, and have decided to create an account of my own because I would to like to become more involved in the discussions. I am a life-long Roman Catholic, very involved in parish life, and have felt drawn to the priesthood on and off since my childhood. I was fortunate enough to spend a year at a college seminary a number of years ago, but that ended very abruptly when it was decided that I would not be allowed to remain there. I realize some of you will look down upon me for that, just as I’m sure there are plenty of priests in my diocese who do, but “Let the one who is sinless cast the first stone” (John 8:7). I think the really interesting thing is that, even though I was dismissed from a seminary (which I admit was my own fault), part of me still feels called to priestly life. Try explaining that to a Bishop or Vocation Director, though. Anyhoo, I’m glad to be here and I hope we can get to know each other.

Welcome, Catholic7000.

Glad to have you with us. I don’t post a lot because of lack of knowledge and (name removed by moderator)ut, but I do read just about everything that passes through this thread.

It has really been a blessing to me. I certainly hope it has been a blessing for you as well.

God bless,
~Rae

Welcome aboard 🙂

Depends on why you were dismissed, I think.

OK, then let’s put it this way… it wasn’t because I committed any sort of crime, nor because I did something that doesn’t happen in seminaries all over the country. I know that what I did was wrong, and I deeply regret it, but it seems very cruel that I did this ONE TIME and have been paying for it ever since.

Looked down for leaving after 1 year? As for me, I would be in hell!!! Strange!!!
