First Saturday - Nov. 5

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

How poorly God and His Mother are treated in this world! This is not new, for it has been going on for a very long time. God knew it would be so and His Word rings true in Sacred Scripture, from Genesis to Revelation, and in Sacred Tradition and in the Magisterium of the Catholic Church.

God told Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, after they sinned:

…I will put enmity between you and the woman,
and between your offspring and hers;
They will strike at your head,
while you strike at their heel. (Gen. 3:15)

In the 12th Chapter of Revelation God warns us:

Then the dragon became angry with the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring, those who keep God’s commandments and bear witness to Jesus.(Rev. 12:17)

God knows the end from the beginning and His patience with us is so that we will repent.

By God’s Grace let us truly repent of all that we have done to offend God and His Mother and let us offer loving reparation to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary. Tomorrow, Nov. 4, is First Friday and Saturday, Nov. 5, is First Saturday. It is always touching to me to read these words regarding the apparition of Jesus and Mary to Sister Lucia of Fatima:

On December 10, 1925, the Most Holy Virgin appeared to her, and by Her side, elevated on a luminous cloud, was the Child Jesus. The Most Holy Virgin rested Her hand on her shoulder, and as She did so, She showed her a heart encircled by thorns, which She was holding in Her other hand.
At the same time, the Child said:
— Have compassion on the Heart of your Most Holy Mother, covered with thorns, with which ungrateful men pierce it at every moment, and there is no one to make an act of reparation to remove them.
Then the Most Holy Virgin said:
— Look, my daughter, at my Heart, surrounded with thorns with which ungrateful men pierce me every moment by their blasphemies and ingratitude. You at least try to console me and say that I promise to assist at the hour of death, with the graces necessary for salvation, all those who, on the first Saturday of five consecutive months, shall confess, receive Holy Communion, recite five decades of the Rosary, and keep me company for fifteen minutes while meditating on the fifteen mysteries of the Rosary, with the intention of making reparation to me.

O my Jesus, pardon us and save us from the fires of hell. Draw all souls to heaven, especially
those in most need of Your Mercy. Immaculate Heart of Mary, Mother of the Church, pray for us.
