First Saturday - Tomorrow, Sept 2

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Tomorrow is the First Saturday of September, and especially – it seems to me – during this 100th Anniversary Year of Mary’s Apparitions at Fatima, we need to offer reparation to her Immaculate Heart, as she asked of Sister Lucia:

Lucia was a postulant in the Convent of St. Dorothy in Pontevedra, Spain when she had the apparition of our Blessed Mother. She was standing over a cloud of light with the Child Jesus at her side. The Blessed Virgin put one hand on Lucia’s shoulder, while her other hand sustained her Immaculate Heart that was surrounded with thorns. The Child Jesus said: “Have compassion on the Heart of your Blessed Mother. It is surrounded with thorns that ungrateful men pierce each moment, and there is no one that is willing to offer an act of reparation to take the thorns away.”

Our Lady immediately said to Lucia: “Look, my daughter. My Heart is surrounded with thorns that ungrateful men pierce unceasingly with their blasphemies and ingratitude. You, at least, try to console me and announce that for all those, who for five consecutive first Saturdays, confess, receive Holy Communion, pray the Holy Rosary and accompany me for15 minutes by meditating the mysteries of the Holy Rosary with the intention to do reparation, I promise to assist them at the hour of death with the graces needed for salvation.”

Hopefully, even if we are unable to offer our Holy Communion in reparation today, we can unite ourselves with Jesus and pray Mary’s Rosary with greater attention and devotion and offer little sacrifices in union with Jesus to console our Mother.

So 5 decades of rosary +15 minutes of meditation +Holy Communion with the intent of reparation.? I did confession last Saturday and did not do any mortal sin afterwards.

I hope I don’t have to do confession today/with in 8 days from today?

i’ll try to make it to the local marian shrine for 12 noon mass & rosary…

As I understand the directives, your confession last Saturday is fine. Freedom from mortal sin of course is essential before Holy Communion.

Hope you made it Brian! Our Mass and Rosary blessed about 50 of us present! If you weren’t able to make it, just pray your Rosary with all the attention and devotion you can and console our Mother in meditating on the mysteries of her Life with Jesus. May all of us continue to ponder as Mary did all Jesus said and did, that we may be all God desires of us.
