Yes, First Friday is January 6th and First Saturday is January 7th. Please remember the intention of making reparation for the sins committed against the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary.

In Christ through Mary

I thank God I made my 5th first Saturday and my 5th first Friday safely the few weeks ago. I did both of these under gloriously hard circumstances since my employer had me travel to a very remote area a week before the days of reparation, where the nearest church was more than 50 km away from where we were staying, and I had no transport of my own, and the only Mass for both days was very early in the morning. Nothing is impossible for God. Before leaving I requested special prayers from my priest… The glory to God is more because I saw his intervention in a clear miraculous ways on those days. I will praise Him forever. I am back to my regular place of stay now. I look forward to my 6th first Friday, and yes, I intend to continue with the first Saturdays. Thanks good people for your prayers.

Just a reminder that this weekend is the 1st Friday and 1st Saturday of January to make reparation for the sins committed against the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary. Please remember me in prayer as I journey towards the 9th consecutive 1st Friday this week. I am learinng of Jesus’ powerful and warm merciful love for us. A Hail Mary for all who are making these devotions.

In Christ through Mary

I am unable to do the Fridays as I work but I am still trying to do my Saturdays.

Can you believe that I started last January? I made four of five and spent the rest of the year trying to do them.

I really need to get them done this year.

Would you recommend saying a Novena to Our Lady in preperation for each Saturday?

Nelka,

I would recommend it if it helps you! I will share that I found that after praying for the graces to complete them, keeping a log of what I have done to work towards the devotion and reparation, what I plan to do, where I plan on making the First Friday or Saturday Communion, and also some notes from research that I do in learning about the devotions.

During First Saturdays I was getting The Fatima Crusader newsletter from the Fatima Network and they sent me a checklist card to help keep me on track. It really helped out, although I wasn’t sure on the standing of the group with the Catholic Church.

Dear Nelka, me too I usually pray before beginning a “demanding” spiritual work, I do not know whether that is the right word but I hope you understand. For example before beginning a novenna prayer for something that is really troubling me, I would not begin it until I find the spiritual energy that gives me like an initial push, and that I find through preparatory prayer. The burning desire that I must do this, I can do this, I have to do this. That zeal that has helped me to overcome sleepy moments etc. I still fail sometimes - but the trick is to try again and again. Depending on what it is, I would opt for a different style of doing the same exercise though.

For the reparation months for Our Beloved Lord and Lady, this essentially means that throughout I am inclined towards this issue regularly, like hoop0826 testifies, I would usually say short prayers for divine assistant whenever I feel that something might come on the way, and study more on the devotions and its advantages, also speak about it when the occassion brings itself. I have come to understand that there is nothing good I can do without divine call and assistance. My earnest prayers are for you to complete the monthly devotions despite your work. God bless you.

IT has been very neat for me to read through these posts and see how some others seem to be being bothered by Satan while trying to do the 5 first Saturdays ( so that they might not complete them) .

Because this is what has been happening to me!
I am about to do the third of five.

And I had a really weird incident with gross houseflies (about 25) in my room. And I am up here in Canada and it was still wintery out when this occurred. So… where in the world did these flies come from?? Like, there was still patches of snow and…not spring yet. ??!

And, what is even more, is that I sent my priest an email recently about my concern over the irreverent behaviour at Mass and making suggestions. And he emailed back a surprisingly scathing retort, that if I didn’t like it, I could just leave!
And go to a different parish!
And this is the only parish in our small town! (I would have to drive into the city, which would be not very convenient. (But I might start doing it b/c he is a very bad liberal unorthodox modern priest).

But these posts got me thinking that maybe all this is because I am doing the 5 Saturday Devotion?? I also sponsored an RCIA candidtate and her two kids lately, and they just came into the Church officially just this past Easter Vigil.

Maybe doing all this, just bothered Satan so much that I am being attacked??

Am I crazy?

I don’t think so!
I did the Montfort 33 day consecration to the Blessed Virgin at the same time, so I seemed to feel the heat of Satan’s attacks too. I was getting yelled at a lot, punched in the face for no reason, kicked out of the house - eventually I had to leave and look for someplace else to live - That was about year ago… and I’m still looking for a steady residence!
But God’s grace always outweighs the trials. The bishop and us opened a new Traditional Latin Rite church on my 5th First Saturday - a confirmation to me from heaven.

Ave Maria.

God Bless

Although I had finished the 5 First Saturdays - consecutive, I sense the need to stay vigilant on the First Saturdays Devotion especially the Communion of Reparation - what a great gift to the world! I was blessed to make it this month and I can’t imagine of anything better to do for our world than this right now. God Bless.

Hi!
I only have one to go ! (Although I plan to go past doing just FIVE first Saturdays. I plan to go on a bit. So that I am not doing just the bare minimum. You know?)
But, the reason I am posting now is that weird freaky stuff continues:

I had posted above, as username blessedbyt. (My husband switched my email address/cable&internet provider, so I am under a new name now.)
But I was the one who talked about the weird housefly incident above.
Now, other awful things have befallen me. I really think Satan is trying to make it difficult to fulfill these five First Sat’s . It is downright eerie and sort of scary.

For example, now I lost my gold Sacred Heart Ring!!! Booooo hooooo. It is lost. Completely lost. Gone forever. Can’t find it anywhere…for ages now.

And other things too.

There is no doubt in my mind that Satan has ramped up his "interference"in my life, so to speak, as a result of me trying to do this devotion.

But I will keep on truckin’
Anybody else out there have troubles like this when they tried?

Catholickat4,

I seen your post about banns being put on people or posts removed. While I won’t say that there is never a time to do such a thing, depending on the offense, this place will pull the trigger on whatever is not in line with what they think Catholicism is or should be.
If I may recommend a much smaller, but more serious discussion group. It is called faithfulcatholics.com
Most are traditional Catholics, the owner being a sedevacantist(like myself), as is many, but not all of the participants. People from all walks of life are welcome. They want to talk and help one another live out the faith. Courtesy is extended throughout, but, like anything else, nothing is perfect.
Do take a look. There only are about 500 or so members.
I just thought I would extend the invitation to you. God bless you and your husband.

Although weird stuff troubled me a little bit, I am happy to have noticed that the power of God always surpasses the trials from the devil. I would advice you (Catholickat4) not to pay it too much importance (the devil), but instead concentrate on God and His power, the troubles should disappear. They are just that, “trials”. They are not meant to last.
When I was doing my first five Saturdays, The 5th was the hardest, Oh my. But looking back, I see God’s power working miraculously through all the difficulties without my prior knowledge. What happened is that my work required me to travel and be in a remote area about 80 km from any Catholic Church and no transport I could rely on. But God is omnipotent, Yes, I went to Mass that Saturday morning, by been driven in a borrowed truck on the rough road for two hours to Church and two hours back (The driver must have thought I was nuts, waking up hours before dawn going God knows where). These things make very little sense to most people around us…
Catholickat4, may Our Blessed Mother send you all the help you need to complete the set of devotion and continue beyond the five.
To thank Our Lady for my having completed the devotion, I am preparing a few pages document in our local language to help more folks know about this devotion and participate in it.

Just a reminder that this weekend is the First Saturday. Our Lady requests on the First Satuday a good confession (within 8 days) , recite the Rosary, receive Holy Communion, and meditate for 15 minutes on the mysteries of the Rosary in reparation to the sins committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Thank you for all who keep persevering in the 5 first Saturdays devotion. I am sure that it is causing great things to happen in the Church and in the world.

Ave Maria

I have a question about the confession part of this devotion. When I go to the confessional,do I have to mention it to the priest that I’m doing this devotion and I’m confessing my sins with the intentions to Our Blessed Mother ?

A little confused

Tony

You do not need to explicitly tell the priest the intention, but at least implicitly the intention needs to be in reparation for the sins committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary. This is the same for the Rosary, Communion, and the meditation on the mysteries of the Rosary for 15 minutes.

Hope this helps, and I wish I could find the reference, but it might be mentioned earlier in this thread.

Just a reminder this Saturday is the First Saturday of August 2012. This day is of special importance to make a good Confession, Communion, recitation of the Rosary, and meditation on the mysteries of the Rosary for 15 minutes keeping the Blessed Mother comapany – all in reparation for the sins committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
