Ave Maria!

Here at Our Lady of Guadalupe Friary, we started celebrating in the EF every day on Ash Wednesday, and are also praying the Divine Office using the 1962 breviary. On Palm Sunday we celebrated our first Solemn High Mass:

"Hello to CAF after 3 years in the Friary!

Ave Maria! :amen:

After leaving CAF back in 2009 to enter the Franciscans of the Immaculate. I’ve since made my first profession of vows on September 8, 2012, and I can’t tell you how religious life is so inexpressibly wonderful! I used to frequent the forums but I don’t remember much of a religious presence (which can be a good thing), but given the charism of our institute I’ve been given permission to get back on the forums, all for the glory of God!

Prayers for all you discerning! The friars do an extended adoration for vocations every Thursday evening, but feel free to chime in if you want me to put your intention up on our prayer board for extra graces from Our Lady! Ave Maria!

In the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary,

Friar John Paul, FI "

This is very good news, as is the news that you have been given permission to post here. I think you will provide a valuable perspective. What is the correct way to address you?

Ave Maria!

Thank you all for your kind welcome! It’s so interesting being in religious life for a while and thinking you’ve left some things out in the world forever, then something like CAF comes up and it becomes the topic of conversation at table. You never know how Our Lady will use you for the kingdom of Her Son!

Wonderful! We were hoping to have the new postulants from there come here to the States, but instead they got sent to the Philippines. Be sure to bring your skateboard so fra Gabriel can teach you a thing or two, or vice-versa!

Among familiars like the friars, sisters, tertiaries, and friends, we call eachother “fra”, which is short for the Italian “frate” (religious brother). Otherwise we may use “Friar”, “Brother”, or “Father”, but not “bro” 😃
