I’m a former Fundamental Baptist seriously considering coming home to the Catholic church. I am attending Mass for the first time with a Catholic friend of mine this Sunday. I’m really excited. It has been on my heart for a long time. However, we currently attend a Baptist university and if they find out we could be kicked out and loose this semester’s credits. (This would in turn really hurt my parents and current Pastor). I believe I should follow God’s truth rather than man, but I’m really scared. I planned to wait until break, but I can’t suppress the burning in my heart anymore! Prayers appreciated!!!

Courage to Follow God

Lord, accompany me all days of my life. Draw me
closer to You so that I will be able to discern Your
will for me. Give me the courage to decide not
according to what others want, not even according
to what I alone want. But may I always place my
desires in accord with the designs of Your heart
so that I may experience real peace and joy that
can only come from You. Through Christ Our
Lord, amen.

(I am a former Southern Baptist who converted
to the R.C. Church in 1990, at age 29.)

Hail Mary,
Full of grace,
The Lord is with Thee.
Blessed art Thou amongst women,
and blessed is the fruit of Thy womb
Jesus
Holy Mary,
Mother of God
Pray for us sinners
Now and at the hour of death,
Amen

Priest or Deacon says quietly at Mass: “By the mystery of this water and wine may we come to share in the divinity of Christ, who humbled himself to share in our humanity.”

May the Lord watch over you and protect you as you make your journey home.

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Loving God please sendYour Holy Spirit to guide and inspire treadingtiber along the right path, st the right time.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

I pray God guide you and show you your path!!! Your faith is strong and that is most important!

I’m so proud of you and will keep praying. God is leading you and you are being obedient. At Mass, say a prayer, relax and absorb everything with your heart, your eyes, ears - all of your senses. You will be filled with God’s presence! Let us know how it goes.

So I attended Mass this morning!! It really moved my heart. Ironically, the homily was about working through questions about our faith. The priest using a quote from someone else said “Sometimes our faith can be riddled with doubt or perhaps rather our doubt is riddled with faith.” It reminds me of the scripture that says, " Lord I believe, help my unbelief." I would say this definitely describes where I’m at right now. I was also struck with how many scripture readings there were and the kneeling for prayer. Coming from a fundamentalist background where we would prude ourselves in being grounded in scripture, I can tell you there isn’t necessarily that much scripture reading in our services.

Thank you! I actually ran into her videos about a year ago when I believe she was getting close to a turning point in her journey perhaps without her even knowing it.
