This question is mainly for the girls its kinda personal i guess… and that is if you were a virgin and waited for marriage to have sex, when you had sex for the first time with your husband did it hurt a lot and did at that moment did it feel like waiting for marriage was the totally worth it? ( just curious…i dont plan on having sex with my boyfriend until were married) just wanted to see how people thought about it!.. thanks 🙂

No, it didn’t hurt because I was totally relaxed. People really blow this out of proportion. If you are comfortable with the person you are with then your muscles won’t tense up. Just my opinion… Also, some people recommend lubricant.

It was totally worth the wait. 😃

It didn’t hurt.

And yes, it was worth the wait. (We dated and waited six years.)

Here is a suggestion that my daughter and her new husband are doing. Every time they make love, they put a dollar in a bank. They plan to use the money for a second honeymoon someday.

I was curious because people always say it hurts so much etc etc… and they pretty much give horror stories so i was kinda confused, i do realize everyone is different but ya… and with the whole waiting thing i bet it is worth it… like im sure waiting all that time and waiting for marriage you felt really good about yourself and it was even that much more special for you two;)

It did hurt…the first time, and there after for a time. But, after 10 years…it was fine. KIDDING. It didn’t take 10 years. lol 😛

Physically, my body was ready but maybe my brain also had to relax a bit. It was a moving, and beautiful experience emotionally, but physically, I personally didn’t enjoy the ‘first’ time. I too waited for marriage, and good for you that you are both waiting too!

You will never ever EVER regret that decision. Years later, when your kids ask you about your past (and they will even if we think it’s none of their business)…you can say…Your dad and I saved ourselves for one another. It will make teaching chastity and sexual morals to your kids, all that much easier, if you yourselves waited.

Doesn’t mean that two people who didn’t wait, can’t teach that, but you can speak from experience, on the challenges, and how it was worthwhile to wait for marriage, to have sex.

God bless, and good luck in your relationship.

10 years eh? wow… haha jk… i do expect it to somewhat hurt just cause i know the way i will be thinking and i will be somewhat nervous and almost panic…and thanks me and my bf said right from the beginning that sex was not going to be an issue and its really nice cause we know theres other ways of spending time with each other…although i was wondering, is it a sin or wrong to see each other naked (not touching) before you are married?.. I think the reason i would be nervous is cause i panic at the thought of being naked…what do you think?

hi stefina;

the human body, is beautiful. Nothing sinful per se, about seeing one another naked…but the mind then will start churning…and will start mulling over that image. And before you know it, lustful thoughts can creep in. The devil looks for the slightest opening, to get people to sin. And while viewing one another naked wouldn’t be sinful…it opens the door to sin, because the viewing of each other naked before marriage, can be a near occasion to sin. So, look at it that way. Before you are both married, ask yourselves…is what we are about to do, going to cause us to stumble in our walk with Christ? If so, better to avoid it.

Save this great gift for marriage. It will be worth the wait. God bless! Welcome to the CAF board, by the way. Nice to meet you. 🙂

Thank you very much! that helps a lot actually… and yah I could see how that would be a probably with thoughts of lust. makes a lot of sense…its nice to know these things because i think about so many things and get curious! Im actually really blessed to have my boyfriend… theres been times when I say to him well just look at me to get it over and done with…and i wont have to feel so nervous anymore… and he says to me that he’d rather wait till were married becuse he knows that wrong will come out of it… but i suppose i just can find it difficult sometimes…but your advice helps out a lot! …nice meeting you too!! 😃

When you are married someday, whether it be this man or another …you will know why you waited, and you will see that God’s creation of this great gift, would never be something to ‘just get over with.’ I was very curious as a virgin too. Plus, you’re bombarded by sexual images all day long in the media, movies, commercials, retailers, etc…it is not abnormal at all to be curious. But stay at the curious level. lol Again, some day…you will be telling someone else what I’m telling you here.

Have a nice evening. 🙂

I’m going to add a guy’s viewpoint here and say that I feel like although it would not necessarily be sinful to see each other naked before your wedding, it would be an extreme disservice to your boyfriend to allow him to see you that way.

Please remember that (at least according to what I have been taught) guys tend to handle the impressions of seeing nudity very differently than women. (Why do you think pornography is so prevalent among men?) So even though it might not be a big deal for you to see him naked, it probably much different for him. A guy can get “turned on” by sight alone.

Also remember:
“Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.” (Matthew 5:27-28)

So my (name removed by moderator)ut is this: Out of your own love and concern for him, don’t do that to him. That would be a situation in which it would be very difficult for him to avoid managing his lust for you.

Also, on a somewhat different note. You asked “what do you think?” And frankly, my initial thoughts on this matter were that your nervousness was simply an excuse made up by your subconsciousness to trick you into getting a little closer to sex. It sounds ridiculous, I know, but in my experience, I’ve found that I often think I am doing something for one reason, only to find out later that I was subconsciously doing it for some other reason that I did not want to admit to myself.

I am not accusing you of falling victim to that type of self-deception, but it is something to keep in mind. Typically the way these things work is that if you give yourself a little leeway, you soon find yourself taking further steps than you would have considered before. You allow yourselves to see each other naked, and once that becomes acceptable, you take one more tiny step after another, and soon you are to the point where you are doing “everything but.”

Although you may have more self-control than the majority of human beings in this world, my personal recommendation is to not test yourself in that way and to not go down that road at all.

Best wishes.

Edit: Sorry. I started typing this reply prior to the other replies being posted and didn’t know that this question had already been responded to. My apologies for posting a redundant answer.

First, every woman is different. It could be either physical or psyhological reasons that determine how your first time is. But even if it is uncomfortable, it is still better for it to be after the wedding than before. It is probably a little too much build up to expect the wedding night to be this perfect fairy tale fantasy night. Hey, maybe it will be. But let’s face it. Beginners at anything new are usually not really good at the new thing until they get a little practice. Why would this be any different?

As for seeing your fiancé naked, unless it is because they fell in the shower and you are rescuing them from a burning building, I think it would be a sin. There isn’t a gradual progression from single to less single to sort of married to totally married. You’re not married until you’re married. And in the same way, having the kind of physical intimacy as this would be too intimate sexual for people who are not married. There is nothing that says you HAVE to have relations on your wedding night, or for matter the next night. So if you are so nervous about your nakedness, that you can’t actually consumate your marriage on night 1, then that’s ok. That is the night you cross the line from single to married, and that is when you can cross the line into physical intimacy. Take your time and eventually you’ll get there. And especially when you have children, you’ll be really glad you waited.

that makes a lot of sense…and i appreciate everyones answer!! 🙂
God bless!!

there’s something really weird about that.

About being naked…DH and I were comfortable, maybe a little too comfortable with that. He would take his clothes off to get in the shower and I would see him naked then, but his naked body doesn’t do anything for me…sorry…it just doesn’t. I mean, I think he’s attractive, but man, all that hair…

I would change clothes in front of him and I wasn’t doing it to be sexy or tempting, but he would pat my butt or stare I me I knew I had to stop because it was a little too much for him.

Just to be on the safe side, I would stay clothed. 😉

I wanted to second this part. I am finding this is true in my own relationship with my fiance. You might want to come up with reasons to get closer physically with each other, but honestly, it’s not worth it. Save as much as you can for marriage, you won’t regret it! I’m not trying to make you feel bad for wanting to see your bf naked; trust me, I TOTALLY understand! 😛 But it’s just not worth it. Spend your time now getting to know the other aspects of each other, your likes and dislikes, what you think about big and small issues, politics, religion, the world at large. Play games, work on projects together. If you get married to your bf, that is the time when you will have all the time in the world to get to know each other physically! Learning to communicate now, with openness and honesty, will help you later, if you do get married, with figuring out what is working and what isn’t physically. I’m not speaking from personal experience here, but just from what I have gathered from others. 😛 I’ll have to come back in 9 months and give you a personal account… 😉

and how do you think it feels the first time for a girl who is a virgin, is not married, has no commitment whatever from the guy she is with, and is very likely being pressured to have sex?

Actually it depends, I know there is this condition that causes your muscles to not be able to stretch or to make it painfree…I believe many have suffered from this, I know it was painful for me but it wasn’t as painful as many others have posted… And if I would have known about lubricants believe me I would have used it!!!

So definitely get some and use it during your honey moon so it makes things a little smoother…

You mean like peer pressure? Or what?

I am one of those horror stories. I actually have extremely tight vaginal muscles (I was the worst case my OB had ever seen), and my wedding night was a little tramatic. I actually ended up in Physical Therapy, and we didn’t actually have sex the first time for about 3 months after the wedding.

However, I am grateful I waited, because my husband and I had built a loving and lasting realtionship, and because of that he handled the entire thing in the most caring, loving and understanding manner. It was all the proof I needed that marriages and love are built on so much more than sex.

If you are worried that it will hurt, see a good OBGYN a couple months before your wedding, explain your concerns and see what they recommend. Unless you have a situation like mine you should be OK. However, I would have loved a heads up before the wedding night that things might be difficult for me, would hav made things a lot less embarassing. Though looking back on the entire thing now we can laugh about it. 🤷
