great mention has been made about fishers of men and launching out in the deep etc - no mention has been made about the devil,as the great imitator and as an angel of light and his close following being sent out as fishers of men.Of course they would be interested in small fry like you or I but theologians and scientists,have it seems and would,it seems make the catch special - come on,so we have been told that God does not exist and if the devil does not exist - stop worrying and enjoy yourself - twinc

Satan is real and is like a roaring lion looking to devour. Deny his existence at your own peril!! Luckily we have been given the weapons to resist him but sometimes we let dust gather on them or don’t sharpen them. I have been studying about Satan lately and he can definitely lead you astray. Don’t be fooled participate in the Sacraments frequently and avoid sin.

Scary isn’t it? That the majority of the intellectual community seem to be atheists or agnostics. Or worse, seem to preach that disbelief. Who are Satan’s fishers? It seems as though Relativism is the main religion of today. So who are Satan’s fishers? Could it be they are christians unwittingly preaching the gospel according to Lucifer.

As for the possibility of Christians preaching Satan, I don’t think that’s true (well, I can’t speak for all Christians, but for the Catholic Church, at least) because Satan would be doing a terrible job if that were true. I mean, for someone who wants people to suffer and be filled with hate, I think Satan would be failing epically since Christians believe in helping the poor and having love for one’s enemies.

To be sure, the opinion of a majority of folk wouldn’t prove any thing to me. Though I know you realize, who teaches at our schools, universities, and media. Twinc was speaking of Satan and who Satan might have teaching his lies. Random chance has been taught in our schools for a while, so that is no supprise.
But Relativism is on an upswing. I don’t like throwing stones but “Once Saved Always Saved” churches have contributed a great deal to this idea. I don’t know if it is a feminisation of christianity or a result of Gd is love syndrome, or how can Gd send anyone to hell to be torchered, though I suspect there are many reasons for this trend. Christians have worked really hard at being inclusive and proving Gd to be forgiving. So what was meant to be good Satan has worked into evil. Yes, I think relativism is particularly evil. And I think that there are many with in the church, Catholics and non, that are perpetuating this erroneous belief. Most of my family would probably go more for relativism than catholicism. My own loving mom told us boys that we could have extra marrital fun and Gd wouldn’t care. Gd couldn’t blame you for doing something you need to do.

Well, twinc I agree that the devil is clever, but not self-destructive. If the devil, as is being supposed, had us (whatever “us” means, be it Catholics, all Christians, etc.) in his hands and had us so convinced that we were doing something against his will, but in fact were doing something he wanted, then clearly he have us won over. Why then, if he had us won over, would he not simply have us consciously worship him instead of God? What the devil is doing is foolish, rather than clever, if such were the case.

Christians are united on many things: the Holy Trinity, the Virgin Birth, the existence of Heaven, the Crucifixion, and much more.

As for the last half of the sentence, I’m not really sure what you are getting at.

The devil is fishing - he’s on the Internet (pornography), he’s got TV programs (garbage like South Park, etc.), he’s got drugs to drag you down into his sewer, he’s got music - to tell you the truth, it feels like awash in Satan’s filth. He’s relentless. His religion (materialism, relativism) is taught in colleges, while the name of Jesus isn’t allowed to be spoken. He has temples for human sacrifice (abortion clinics) in every major city. Anybody that doesn’t think the devil is active today doesn’t have eyes to see or ears to hear.

Mankind does well in sinning without the devil giving a helping hand. By claiming the “Devil made me do it” is a clever way of finagling out of the culpablity of one’s sin.Before blaming it on Satan first shouldn’t we look to our own wickedness,our false heart-our hidden self? It is so easy to pass the blame or the impetus for the sin on someone or something else.Didn’t Adam say that Eve got him to sin?

following on from Christ’s instructions, to launch out into the deep and make a big catch,our present Pope has also belatedly said this.It seems the devil has been quicker off the mark and has caught some big fish and their large followings in the very deep and depths of Christianity. It sems,according to some sources, that some of our theologians and scientists are accepting and teaching some strange things to their large followings - any comments - twinc

It’s much easier to get folk to think the church is out of touch. And they know more about Gd and what He says is sin.

In all actuality, most folk are “consciously” worshiping things other than Gd. But relatively speaking, they aren’t harming any one, it’s a need Gd built into me, Gd would rather me divorce than stay in an unloving marriage, and etc…

exactly so imho “worshipping things other than God” like material things and men[Rmns’1:25] - his main aim it seems is to deny God the worship that is His due - twinc
