As a Catholic who came to the Church in his 20’s, I had to do a lot of self-study to understand the mass and the Catholic faith.
The mass is beautiful and based giving thanks to God. It is centered around the command that Jesus gave to Eat his body and Blood to proclaim his death and ressurection for all time.
BUT, how do we educate non-catholics and non-christians to help them understand and love the beauty of the mass and its focus on the sacrifice of Jesus, not human entertainment?
Most protestant Churchs are not done as an offering to Christ, but as a way to preach to people. (I apologize if this line offends anyone, I could not find a better way to say it) The focus is the sermon. It is easy for people to listen and very inviting to nominal Christians and non-Christian. You can sit there and listen. In the Catholic Church participation is necessary, but many shy people will be put off by this and not investigate the beauty of the faith.
HOW do Catholic’s become better fishers of men, to help people understand the truth, history, and love of Jesus found in the Catholic church??
