I suppose that depends on what you are trying to emphasize.

If one is trying to cast aspersions upon all Republicans for the behavior of this person, as appears to be the case with the statement:
“Just another corrupt Republican”
Then one would necessitate mention of political affiliation.

If one is emphasizing the behavior of the one, then no, we should not mention political party.

I think we all know what would be emphasized if he had been encouraging Democrats to do the exact same thing.

The discussion appears to have shifted from the immorality of the behaviour to if a spade shall be called a spade.

I have in no way “justified” this man’s illegal, immoral acts. Implying that I have would be just as dishonest as his acts.

I’m not talking about that.
I am talking about how wrong it is to speak ill of many people for the actions of an individual.
This man is wrong. It has nothing to do with political pursuits.
