And none of the beliefs he’s put on his plate show him to be even a cafeteria Catholic.

I don’t believe his religion consists of what he likes I believe he’s Mormon. He doesn’t “defend” LDS on the MAAD boards he exposes on it, up holds it. Sustains it.
He puts little jabs in at Mormonism now and then, the same he does here with Catholicism.

😛

whyme’s religion consists of whatever he personally likes. So it doesn’t really have anything to do with God or JS. Only has to do with himself. Apparently, he is enamored of the idea of being a polygamist. Therefore, it is Good and needs defending.
I am not enamored with with the idea of being a polygamist. I just think that there are good polygamist familes out there and these families should not be confused wth the FLDS. There are other polygamist branches that are not FLDS.

so now you champion the cause of fundamentalist mormon polygamists? amazing since you have daughters. I find it baffling that someone who claims to have lost faith in God retains it in Joseph Smith to such a high degree.
No. But the link that I posted shows what seems to be a good polygamist family. Not all polygamist families belong to the FLDS. And they should not be confused with them. If that particular polygamist family is raising their children to believe in god and to have a good moral upbringing…well, I say great.

And every catholic father should strive for their children to be excited to play football with them and to find the time to do son as said in the video.

I only have my personal experience to go on, but living in Southern California, I know a lot of Mormons. My best friend growing up was and is a Mormon. I haven’t ever read where WhyMe stated a religious belief but I can say for sure that WhyMe’s posts sound a lot more like a Mormon than a Catholic. In fact they sound a lot more like a Mormon than ANYTHING else.

Whyme claims to be Catholic, but his posts consistently betray an ignorance of and hostility to Catholic history, beliefs, practices and terminology. I think he’s 100% Mormon who is here “lying for the Lord” in hopes it will fool someone and perhaps lead to conversions for his church.

If that’s so, then WhyMe should prepare for disappointment.

That has been obvious from the first time I met him. Sometimes, however, I see a bit of ambivalence in him that indicates some doubt. With the latest outburst, I understand him better. He is Mormon only because the idea of having more than one wife is very attractive to him. Same for LaMar, except he is more honest about his feelings.

i cannot say great. EVERY polygamist family is defying God and bringing up their children in a wrong environment. football doesn’t make it okay.

Oh come now! If a man has 3 wives and they each have 7 to 10 children, then statistically he will have the possibility of having enough boys near the same age to have his very own family football team. How can you say that’s not part of God’s plan for us and for our salvation? 😛

The practice of polygamy is clearly found in the Old Testament. Abraham, Jacob, David, and Solomon are prime examples of Old Testament saints who practiced it, the problem however comes when debating as to whether or not god sanctioned it. But it was practived. Here is an interesting argument in favor of the bible permitting polygamy:

bluecord.org/biblioblog/2006/04/polygamy-in-the-old-testament/

Of course there is a debate about it all but it is not unreasonable for somoeone to conclude that polygamy was permitted.
no, i would conclude that it is unreasonable to conclude that polygamy was, or is, sactioned, or approved by God. It certainly was overlooked for a period of time by God, same as God overlooked the sins of divorce among the Hebrews, until Jesus clearly and specifically called attention to it.

what you are doing is accepting a particular interpretation of Scripture. this interpretation is in opposition to the teaching of the Catholic Church that you claim to be a member of. there is no debatte about this among Catholics who are obedient to the principles of Catholicism. There may be debate among those who are not obedient. Are you one of those?

That’s true. God doesn’t care about football. We know this for sure. If He did care about football, Notre Dame would always beat BYU, even if it required a Hail Mary pass to do so! 😃

As they say at Notre Dame, God doesn’t care about football, but his mother does. 🙂

agreed. he’s a variation on the troll. there never for a single moment has been a shredd of doubt in my mind that, as he presents himself here, he is a mormonn through and thought.

i am not saying there is anything bad about being a true believing morman. they are as good a people as any other. it makes me wonder though why so many of them feel they have to play games and come in disguised. why don’t they just stand up proud, the way zerinis does?

Because people give Zerinus a hard time?

When the mormon church is attacked, I can perhaps sound like a mormon. But when the catholic church is attacked, I can certainly sound like a catholic. Both faiths are close to my heart. Nothing wrong with that, right? 🙂

No I am not a troll. Yes, I attend Mass. Yes, I know nuns. And yes, I know several priests.
A Mormon married to a Catholic who goes to church with their family could say that too. You didn’t say you were a Catholic, you said you attend Mass.

I was born catholic and converted to mormonism at 18. But because I was born catholic, I am catholic. The catholics around me know my story. Nothing is hidden. 🙂

If you were a Catholic, and that’s apparently open to question, it would be entirely appropriate for you to treat Mormons, or people of any other faith for that matter, with respect and consideration.

It is not appropriate for you, or for any of us, to make excuses for anyone’s un-Christian behavior, attempt to rationalize it or attempt to persuade anyone that these un-Christian practices are somehow acceptable when clearly they are not. It calls into question your own faith (obviously) and it is not truly in anyone’s best interest, no matter how “nice” it may seem to you. To paraphrase, if not quote Fr. Corapi accurately ~ it is not charity to confirm someone in their sin.

If you’re a practicing Mormon, then you’re Mormon. At the very lest, you don’t seem to be a very well catechized Catholic. You “talk” like a Mormon. If you are a Catholic, then you apparently need to re-vert
