We have all watched young studs chase after the beauties, all the while inflating his ego. I find it an awkward and embarrassing dance. Be nice, show respect, honor their beauty. But don’t play with them just to puff yourself up. They equal to you as God’s children, not some puppy in the window.
It’s like watching the male pigeon chasing and dancing around the female pigeon.

I realize this is an old thread that someone resurrected- but I didn’t realize it when I started reading through the posts. The OP calling the girl “mi Novia” obviously crossed a line. The first time I used that phrase in regards to my now wife (Dominican) was after a few months of dating- and we both knew it was a serious commitment thereafter. Novia also translates as bride- it’s a girlfriend, not a friend who is a girl.

So im visiting Guatemala, I’m here for 4 months.

I figure its enough time to meet a lot of girls and have some fun; But not to get into a serious relationship.

So I’ve been taking names left and right; one beauty after another (and these guatemalans really are breath-taking); but one girl has utterly shut me down and I think its because she saw me flirting with some other girls. She was really nice and interested when I first saw her; now she seems disgusted to see me.
On the one hand shes got a point. On the other it seems like shes over reacting; I only talked to her for a grand total of about 20 minutes.

So it got me thinking. Am I a complete *******? Is it horrible to flirt with multiple girls? Is it a bad thing to “lay your best moves” in order to get a dialogue going with more than one girl?

I am open to having a exclusive relationship but I guess my question is:

At what point do I have to start being loyal to one girl???

PS I dont want to be an ******* at all. I dont want to hurt girls feelings (though I know that sometimes its beyond my control). I want to be a good Catholic. One day I want a family and to be loyal.
Thanks
To answer the bolded question: You start being loyal to one girl when you decide she is worth that kind of loyalty. If your engaging in premarital relations then that’s not good, but if not then I wouldn’t advise torturing yourself by over thinking things. Engaging in conversation and becoming friendly with multiple girls does not make you an a-hole. Neither does getting a name and number mean that you are exclusive. Any girl that gets jealous that easily is a girl that you should avoid anyway. Moreover, the girls that are the most concerned with whether or not you are flirting with their peers are the very same girls that will try to keep their own options open for as long as possible. Don’t make anyone your priority until they have demonstrated at least some willingness to reciprocate. The likelihood that you will be able to make a long distance relationship work is not very good, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t have some fun and get some practice talking to girls.

I would doubt that the girl was disgusted at you. More likely, she saw through your act and spotted a man who is using his trip abroad as a chance to flatter himself by getting attention from as many “exotic” women as possible and she didn’t want to play into it. Nothing wrong with that. There are a lot of women out there who try to avoid being used to feed someone’s ego, myself included.

As long as you’re being honest, you aren’t a jerk. But you will find girls who want no part of this experiment of yours.

As one person stated, girls are daughters of God. They are not toys to play with. If you find girls who just want to be a playthings for four months, you will probably be asking for a lot more trouble than you want to deal with.

Zombie status aside, most guys who do this do so to inflate their ego. I am not sure that is what God created women for, and not sure ego-inflation is a healthy pursuit, unless you are embracing your own inestimable self-worth in the eyes of He who made you.

I am sure we are all guilty to one extent or another, but whose opinion is of greater worth - a human full of their own weaknesses and shortcomings, of the perfect, all-knowing, all-seeing Almighty? If we could realize how valuable we are in the eyes of God, our egos would be sated. And to be clear, I am guilty of this as well, even with people I am close to, to a greater or lesser extent. I think almost everyone is.
