It seems that you are defending the COMPROMIZE THAT Dr. Killan has worked out with the Evil of Abortion. This Compromize is not just a COMPROMIZE, but an APPEASEMENT OF REAL EVIL.

John, you either CONFRONT EVIL or you give in. Ani wants Dr. Killan and Fr. Malloy to CONFRONT IT as their POPE and their CHURCH have told them to. You want them to give in as Killan is trying to convince Fr. Malloy.

This is what we’re trying to stop! it’s a crime against God and against Humanity, and Dr. Kilian, who should know better, is trying to COMPROMIZE with it, and in so doing, is APPEASING IT!

John, Morgentaler has made his money doing the above. If you want to defend that, I hope you’re not a Catholic, because you’re opposing the Magisterial Teaching of the Church from the time of Christ. If you just didn’t know, I understand, but you had an obligation to find out.

Either way, you’ve got some thinking to do, thinking that involves NO more heckling of ANI.

John: You have a point too. Rev Malloy seems like a truly stellar man to me. His accomplishments are breath-taking.

Frankly I find the offer of the award to Rev Malloy insulting. It is the same award going to a list of moral relativists of decidedly diminished stature compared to Rev Malloy. Rev Malloy deserves much better.

I also understand the position that Dr Killan finds himself in. The Senate decided on all the awards and because the Catholic colleges kicked up such a fuss about Morgentaler, the Senate threw Kings College a bone, hoping to shut them up. That ‘bone’ was an award to Rev Malloy!

Nevertheless the buck stops at Dr Killan. A compromise has been offered him called the Alternative Catholic Solution:

There is talk also of replacing the honorary Doctor of Laws with the Gaudium et Spes Award. This would be a real honour for Rev Malloy, instead of a ‘bone’ tossed his way as if he were some kind of family pet. There is also talk of creating a centre which would be called The Reverend Edward A Malloy Centre for Studies in the Culture of Life. But it is still only discussion.

No one is trying to diss Rev Malloy. No one is trying to diss Dr Killan either. But Dr Killan is in leadership. He is accountable. He has been offered an honourable compromise. We need him to step up to the plate. The status quo cannot be allowed to continue at UWO. Too much is at stake.
