I’m asking for prayers for 2 things - for our pro-abortion politicians to get a fright about their hell-bent (literally) policy on promoting abortion, and at the same time for relief from the enormous flooding which is impacting Queensland. Specifically I’m asking for some miracle of deliverance for Brisbane at this late stage, even if God does it with His usual sleight of hand and stays concealed.
Your prayers would be appreciated.
Background below -
Since around Christmas, we’ve been having floods in the state of Queensland in Australia, at one time covering an area the size of Germany and France combined. A number of towns are still isolated.
Right now it appears the Brisbane River may cause flooding exceeding that of the 1974 floods. The main difference is that we’ve had more time to prepare for it, as the 1974 floods occurred almost overnight.
I’m not affected directly as I live in Logan which as been lucky so far, but a lot of people have been afftcted. Yesterday there was a freak flash flood in Toowoomba, which is one place nobody thought would be flooded, since by Australian standards it is quite high above sea level and close to the edge of a mountain range. Following that the flash flood careened down the valley into towns below. Several people were killed and a number are missing.
The following link gives an idea of the Toowoomba flash flood.

Now I don’t like grand-standing on natural disasters or misfortune, but it seems to me there’s an element of judgment in this. In October 2008, the Victorian government passed very liberal abortion laws. About three months later they had the worst bushfires in their history, with well over 100 people killed…
I’m a labor voter myself, but we’ve currently got politicians in high places who are very much pro-abortion (on both sides of politics), although so far they haven’t used their authority to change things much. But we still kill 100,000 unborn children every year.
I just wonder if they’ve thought about the possible consequences of this flood - it has largely caused our coal mining industry to grind to a halt, has greatly damaged agricultural output and put a huge crimp in our tourist industry, at the very same time the nation struggles with national and private debt. These are probably our three main national income earners.
I think we’re getting a warning. God isn’t soft, if these floods are anything to go by. Even one of the pro-abortion politican’s planes was struck by lightning during a flight, as was also admittedly an RAAF Hercules engaged in relief work.
Your prayers would be appreciated.
