I am surprised that there is no mention whatsoever of any attempt to prosecute the father for statutory rape, which automatically assumes that the mother does not have the emotional capacity to engage in consentual sexual activity in the first place. So, if by law she is not old enough to give consent for sex, how can she be considered old enough to give consent for an abortion? Someone help me out with this.

It’s the key to success for rapists. Make sure the victim is impregnated. Killing babies is a higher priority for abortuaries than protecting children and women from rape so the rape is pushed under the rug.

I could be wrong, but I believe the age of consent in Florida is 13. I know for a fact it is 13 here in Ohio.

Look none of us agree with that statement so you make sure you do not start making assumptions about the rest of us:nope: If the abortionist want to continue unjustly murdering for profit the most innocent of society the blood is on them I will do every thing legally that I can to stop it but I will NOT put blood on my hands at all.I hope they are converted.I do think it is ironic that people get put on death row for doing the same thing that abortionist do but a few years later

Sorry, age of consent in florida is 18. There are even additional stipulations for adults over the age of 24 engaging in relations with 16-17 year olds. Sorry, but according to Florida Statutes, a 13 year old is not of the age of consent.

I had to look it up in the Florida Code of Statutes. I’ll post the Statutory references here if I can find them again. I google statutory rape florida and got taken to a site that transmitted a virus to my computer. Grrrrr. Anyways, now that I am clean and in the process of reconstructing all the work I did this morning, I’ll site the statute numbers so that people can go into this debate armed with the facts.

Wow. 13 years old. You honestly think she is making a rational decision? Better to wish for her conversion, after being deluded by society and encouraged and led by DCF into this tragic decision. She could be an eloquent spokesman if she ever sees the light after this. A 14 week abortion won’t be easy to recover from.

It doesn’t surprise me. After that whole Terri Schiavo fiasco, my husband and I wrote to Jeb Bush saying that we will not support him in any thing he tries to do politically from now on as he has completely lost our trust.I know thats right
He DID have the power to save Terri, he didn’t do it because the polls were saying people wanted her dead. All he cares about is what the popular vote is. He is a sleazy politician and I hope he cleans up or gets out!!!

While I tend to agree with this sentiment, I have to say I am disappppointed in both George & Jeb for what they did & didn’t do, in my perception, due to public pressure, or lack thereof. Not trying to change the subect, but going back to Terri Schiavo - they had ideal opportunities to start trying to reign in a judiciary that has run amuck!
Both the Florida legislature & the Congress passed laws to change the situation; both the state & federal courts said, “screw you, legislative branch,” and both executive branches let them get away with it. What ever happened to the checks-and-balances I learned about in grade school???
