Someone told me that the Jews still have individuals who pass on the complete oral tradtion from memory from generation to generation.
Why do you believe this?

And why do you assume that this “oral tradition” would fit your paranoid fantasies?

Well, I suppose that question answers itself.

I normally have high regard for your opinion Contarini but am perplexed to encounter these unnecessary ad hominem slurs. This is simply disordered, uncalled for, unproductive, unbecoming and denigrating. Other than trying to quash an honest inquiry what value added have you made here other than to make yourself feel good that you have nothing but insults to contribute to the discussion?

Shameful for you.

How can “oral tradition” have “physical evidence”? This makes no sense.
I suppose you would take the person who has the oral tradition in his head and a credible character and reputation of honesty as lack of physical evidence? I am no scholar in Jewish traditions and am looking for answers. I have anecdotal accounts that the Jews have secret writings of oral traditions intrusted to only a few individuals and was wondering if we might be able to advance humanity’s knowledge by appealing to common decency to come clean with everything they know so humanity can resolve open issues that have direct bearings on everyone’s immortal souls.

If it does not make sense to you and you have nothing productive to offer then why even comment?
Since everyone who is not a traditional, orthodox Kabbalist thinks that these “Kabbalistic records” mostly originated in the High Middle Ages, it’s not clear how they are compelling evidence for anything that happened a thousand years earlier. The claims that the Zohar, for instance, records oral tradition from the ancient rabbis are discounted by scholars. Since you are not an Orthodox Jew of Kabbalistic leanings, why on earth would you believe these claims?

This is better and is furthering the discussion with productive dialog. I admit that I am ignorant to the historicity of the Kabbalist records and the chronological sequencing. It seems to me though that oral tradition goes way way back to the centuries before Christ - even to the beginning since only the priests were permitted to interpret Prophecy and the Law.

I am going on the assumption that there might really be an honest Jew out there with a moral conscience who might want to come clean on what really happened with all the record manipulation.
