I sent my letter to the priest last week. Today, he came into my workplace to thank me personally for the note. Essentially I thanked him for being the first priest to give me Jesus in the Eucharist, told him his reverence had taught me so much, and assured him I would always keep him in my prayers. I was so glad it was well received.
The new curate is very warm and friendly, delighted with my busy parish and the first thing he said to me after his first Saturday evening Mass was “I hope I didn’t put you off returning!” Bless him, wild horses couldn’t keep me away, but I appreciated the humility in his response.
