Food restrictions: blood?

Two questions:

1. In the Roman Rite Catholic Church, is it forbidden to eat/drink animal blood or anything that uses it as an ingredient?
2. In the Roman Rite Catholic Church, are there any foods that are forbidden to be eaten year-round?

A quick look through the Catechism did not yield anything about eating or drinking animal blood.

As for foods forbidden, the only thing I can think of is abstinence from meat on the prescribed days.

Perhaps others have some thoughts…
