Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence,
I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins,

St. Gerard, who, like the Saviour, loved children so tenderly and by your prayers freed many from disease and even death, listen to us who are pleading for our sick child. We thank God for the great gift of our daughter and ask Him to restore our child to health if such be His holy will. This favour, we beg of you through your love for all children and mothers.

speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into Emerson’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Update from Emerson’s mom:

For those of you who have been following Emerson’s story- after 9 long days, she is off of the ventilator and breathing completely on her own! She is awake and even cracked a smile for her favorite Minnie Mouse. We are crying tears of joy, finally having our baby back. We are hoping we can get her moved from the PICU tomorrow and then maybe another week in the hospital. We also have poopy diapers 🎉 so as soon as her NG tube starts draining clear, we can start her on a little bit of pedialyte. Still praying that she is able to have “normal” digestive and bowel function even though she has had about 2 feet of her small intestine removed and a small bowel resection. Time will tell and we continue to take it one day at a time. Hoping we have her home by her first birthday. Thank you all so much for your prayers and support, it means the world to our family.
