Please pray for an 11-year-old boy name “Sebastian” who is likely a sociopath. I don’t know all the details, but his poor classmates have suffered intimidation and who knows what else being in his class for years. I guess the officials of the school and the boy’s parents cannot take further action – psychiatric? – at this point.

I really don’t understand all the ins and outs, but the facts I have heard are frightening – like Charles Manson as a child, gathering his “family” around him.

My friend said she’s just never felt this way about a student before, that she dreads being around him, feels incapable of adequately protecting the other students from him, and that she just doesn’t see him being capable of change even as he grows and matures.

“We have to rely on our faith and pray.”

Wise words.

So please, please join me in praying for young Sebastian – and for the children around him, and for the families involved. Sounds like they need a miracle.

St Sebastian, pray for us!

Holding Sebastian and his classmates, teachers, and community in prayer.

Sub Tuum Praesidium Under Thy Protection

We fly to thy protection,
O holy Mother of God,
despise not our petitions in our necessities
, but deliver us always from all dangers,
O glorious and blessed Virgin.

Amen.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection,
implored your help, or sought your intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence,
I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother.
To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in your mercy, hear and answer me.
Amen.

I rebuke all evil spirits afflicting poor Sebastian in the name of Jesus Christ.
I bind those spirits with the crown of thorns of Jesus.
I cover them with the precious blood of Jesus.
I cast those spirits out to the foot of the cross of Jesus Christ the Lord and Savior of all.
I ask the Holy Spirit to fill Sebastian’s soul replacing those spirits with your fruits and gifts, especially faith, hope and love!

St. Michael the Archangel
Defend us in battle
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil
May God rebuke him we humbly pray
And do though o prince of the Heavenly Host
by the power of God
Cast into Hell, satan and all the evil spirits
Who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls

St Sebastian, pray for us!
Are the parents Catholic? They could seek an exorcist.

Heavenly Father we entrust this boy, his family, and all whom he encounters, to Your merciful love and wisdom.

Saying prayers for Sebastian, his family, his classmates, teachers, and all those trying to help.

For S., his parents, all around him and any authorities.

Our Father said.

If this is at a Catholic school, the Diocese should be made aware.
They have a moral obligation to protect the teachers and students,
AND MORE IMPORTANTLY to offer this child help.
Prayers offered.

Remembering Sebastian, and the community that surrounds him, in my daily prayers. God bless!

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Prayer for a Miracle

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal Sebastian. You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into Sebastian’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

For Help in Trials

Most holy apostle St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved Master into the hands of His enemies has caused you to be forgotten by many. But the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases–of things despaired of. Pray for me who feels so hopeless. Make use, I implore you, of that particular privilege accorded to you of bringing visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need, that I may receive the consolations and succor of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, in particular Sebastian’s classmates), and that I may bless God with you and all the elect throughout eternity. I promise you, O Blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will never cease to honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to do all in my power to encourage devotion to you. Amen.

St. Patrick’s Breastplate
  • I bind unto myself today
    The strong Name of the Trinity,
    By invocation of the same,
    The Three in One and One in Three.
I bind this day to me for ever.
By power of faith, Christ’s incarnation;
His baptism in the Jordan river;
His death on Cross for my salvation;
His bursting from the spicèd tomb;
His riding up the heavenly way;
His coming at the day of doom;
I bind unto myself today.

I bind unto myself the power
Of the great love of the cherubim;
The sweet ‘well done’ in judgment hour,
The service of the seraphim,
Confessors’ faith, Apostles’ word,
The Patriarchs’ prayers, the Prophets’ scrolls,
All good deeds done unto the Lord,
And purity of virgin souls.

I bind unto myself today
The virtues of the starlit heaven,
The glorious sun’s life-giving ray,
The whiteness of the moon at even,
The flashing of the lightning free,
The whirling wind’s tempestuous shocks,
The stable earth, the deep salt sea,
Around the old eternal rocks.

I bind unto myself today
The power of God to hold and lead,
His eye to watch, His might to stay,
His ear to hearken to my need.
The wisdom of my God to teach,
His hand to guide, His shield to ward,
The word of God to give me speech,
His heavenly host to be my guard.

Against the demon snares of sin,
The vice that gives temptation force,
The natural lusts that war within,
The hostile men that mar my course;
Or few or many, far or nigh,
In every place and in all hours,
Against their fierce hostility,
I bind to me these holy powers.

Against all Satan’s spells and wiles,
Against false words of heresy,
Against the knowledge that defiles,
Against the heart’s idolatry,
Against the wizard’s evil craft,
Against the death wound and the burning,
The choking wave and the poisoned shaft,
Protect me, Christ, till Thy returning.

Christ be with me, Christ within me,
Christ behind me, Christ before me,
Christ beside me, Christ to win me,
Christ to comfort and restore me.
Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ in quiet, Christ in danger,
Christ in hearts of all that love me,
Christ in mouth of friend and stranger.

I bind unto myself the Name,
The strong Name of the Trinity;
By invocation of the same.
The Three in One, and One in Three,
Of Whom all nature hath creation,
Eternal Father, Spirit, Word:
Praise to the Lord of my salvation,
Salvation is of Christ the Lord.*

From what I know, this boy would have been expelled within his first months in a Catholic school. The woman who told me to pray is one of my public school friends, and this boy is student in her public school.

There’s not really standard treatment for children who demonstrate sociopathic tendencies.

And so we pray, and pray, and pray…
