For A Family Member

Hi All!,

A member of my family(I will leave it at that for their full anonymity) is addicted to pornography. They have wanted to join the Church with their fiancee and get married in the Church however this addiction is holding them back and it is affecting their relationship with their fiancee and it’s really causing a ton of problems in general for them. I have been praying for them every day and I know that they can conquer this with the help of our prayers. Please pray that they may conquer this and also that they and their fiancee may enter the church and get married in it. May we also pray for all those suffering from an addiction of any sort!

Dear God, please help this person to obtain the help he needs to overcome his sickness. Help the fiancée to see the addiction as the sickness it is and encourage him to heal.
Bind what should be bound and loose what should be loosened, and heal this couple in all their trials. Amen

Praying an Our Father and Memorare for your family member…

Two things that significantly helped me control this same addiction - praying the rosary every day (and keeping one in my pocket at all times - pulling it out and praying every time temptation comes) and wearing a scapular. Frequent trips to reconciliation, frequently receiving the Eucharist, and Eucharistic adoration were also useful as well. Not being in the Church, they could at least participate to some extent in these.

This is an issue for many men, so I pray that your family may overcome this evil.
