For a Friend in Despair

My friend Jamie has been, for months now, struggling with a vicious state of depression.
Right now he’s in such pain he fears he’ll die before dawn.
I beg you, in the name of the Lord, to pray for Jamie over the next full day from this post.
I’ll be standing vigil this night for him. Please add your prayers.
 
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Lord send many graces to Jamie in this time of bearing the cross during this terrestrial, fallen pilgrimage. See that these graces are cultivated into joy, wisdom, and fortitude. Send angels to help with this cause and lead this soul toward heaven, now and forever, as a shining light to others. Send angelic help also to Reepicheep and graces for perseverance and understanding. Lighten their burden, as you promised in Scripture your burden would be light. Our Lady, pray with us. Amen.
 
Dear Jesus,
You are the only way, yet sometimes we can’t find you for the pain we are going through. Please during these times, hold on to us and NEVER let us go. May we see a new day and be able to say, “Jesus I love you. Jesus, I need you. Jesus, have mercy on me a sinner. Say those precious words to me as you did when the good thief said to you, ‘Remember me when you come into your kingdom.’” Amen.

Dear Holy Spirit, make Yourself present to
Jamie through the help and friendship of
the person known as Reepicheep. Help him
get through the night in Your loving care
and be able tomorrow to see that You are
a Loving God who does not want him to
suffer in despair. Lead him Lord, if it be
Your will, to a clinic or doctor who can
diagnose him for illness. And tonight, keep
both of these friends safe. Amen. ❤️

Amen! Amen! I join with you Petra and Marco, in these beautiful prayers, in heartfelt prayer for Jamie!

  1. Book Jamie into hospital now, 2. Get rid of satan off Jamie’s back by (a) handing Jamie The Holy Scapula and Our Lady Mary and Jesus’ Miraculous Medal (through The Catholic or Christian Bookshop) today if you can pick these up, getting Jamie to carry it on his person, including the Miraculous Medal, (b) At your Local Catholic Church, pick up Our Lady Mary’s Holy Rosary Card and ask Jamie to pray together asking for Jesus Healing now and for Eternity with World Peace now and for Eternity. (c) Use either Bar-bells or Dum-bells for Jamie’s physical depression part, which triggers a muscle in the arm to the brain, assisting in lifting the depressive episodes (I read about this many years ago)!
Swimming is excellent to remove depression as is attending the gym lifting the arms up above one’s head on those weight bars.

Jogging, walking and outdoors activities daily many people use to treat depression and ward it off,.

Holy Rosary Child, all of this is good advice. Unhappily (sad smile) most of it can’t be applied in Jamie’s case.
I lack the power to get him to a hospital (though he is seeing a doctor).
As for the specifically Catholic advice: Jamie’s a Christian but not a Catholic. In fact he subscribes to anti-Catholic beliefs. He’d refuse a Miraculous Medal or Catholic literature.
Possibly I could persuade him to at least try physical exercise - but at this point I doubt it. 😦

I thank you for your advice though. It occurs to me that I can wear the Miraculous Medal myself as an act of devotion on Jamie’s behalf.
 
Most loving, please grant Jamie the peace of mind. Protect him from evil and please guide and guard him to seek help. I ask that you give him the strength and protection

that in difficult moments we might not despair
nor become despondent , but with great confidence ,
submit ourselves to Your Holy Will ,

Thankful update.
Jamie is now much happier. 🙂
He still struggles sometimes but the despair is gone.
I thank everyone who prayed for him, and I thank God for the improvement in his condition.
