I just found out that a friend is struggling with an alcohol addiction. I know nothing of his personal circumstances regarding this, other than that he is a Christian and is attending AA meetings… and he’s recently reached out to his friends for help and support. Please pray that he receives the strength to continue this fight and win it. I’m so proud of him for doing his best to get the help he needs, and I pray that he overcomes this addiction.

Thank you very much for your charity and your prayers.

Dear Lord, I pray for the friend of Bookish lady. May he emerge victorious in his struggle to overcome his alcoholism. May his restless heart find peace in You and his spirit rejoice in your goodness. May he find comfort in his friendships and may his friends support him and encourage him, helping him to discover new ways to approach challenges. And, when this problem is surmounted, may he look back upon it and find that what he has experienced can enable him to better know and love and serve You. In this and in all things, may Your will be done. Amen.

God of mercy, we bless You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, Who ministered to all who came to Him. Give Your strength to this person in need , one of Your children, enfold him/her in Your love and restore him/her to the freedom of God’s children.

Lord, look with compassion on all those who have lost their health and freedom. Restore to them the assurance of Your unfailing mercy, strengthen them in the work of recovery, and help them to resist all temptation.

To those who care for them, grant patience and understanding and a love that perseveres. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Lord, grant graces for bookishlady’s friend that he might foster the virtues of wisdom, joy, fortitude, and magnanimity in the face of all temptation. Lead him closer to you always and forever. Mary, pray with us. Amen. :gopray2:

Thank you all very much.

‘Where two or more are gathered in His name…’ 🙂

Mother Mary, I commend bookishlady’s friend to you. Please help him to overcome his problem with alcohol. Shower down graces upon him and help him to cooperate with every one of them. May he love Our Lord more than alcohol and be sure to center his entire life on Him. Help him to resist temptation; may he pray ceaselessly for the graces he needs and read the Bible every time he feels tempted … and soon find himself delivered from his addiction through your powerful mediation. Amen.

Thank you all, again. I let him know that he has a great group of folks offering prayers for him, and he’s deeply appreciative. 🙂

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be
done, on earth as it is in heaven Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our
