For a good friend

Hi,

I have been praying for a lot of people lately, and recently it seems that what I want for myself is a good Catholic friend my age, close by, that I can spend time with and grow in faith and do different activities together. I do not have many friends, and for those I have, they are either not Catholic, or live far away. But I just feel like I thrive with good friendships, and I want to find a good friend close by, preferably in my home parish. Normally I wouldn’t ask for prayers like this, and I only do so because I feel it is what God is trying to arrange, and I am anxious about friendships because previous friendships ended badly. So I guess that what I am asking for is discerning whether God wants me to initiate a friendship with someone, and if so, lead me and that person to each other, and get us to talk and pray together. Thank you for any prayers for friendship. It just seems, looking back, that God has been trying to bring me into friendship with someone, and I either haven’t been ready, or have been afraid of failure in friendship.

May I suggest, if you don’t mind, for you to ask your Parish for the “Christ Renews His Parish” (CHRP - pronounced Chirp) retreat. And if your Parish doesn’t have the retreat, you can see which Parish in your area does have it and they can prepare the weekend for your Parish and get the retreat started.

Not only will it renew your life in Christ, but you will make everlasting brothers/sisters with which you can pray, read Scriptures, talk, and life a beautiful fullness of faith with.
 
Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. Prayer for a Miracle

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal (Vim71). You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into Vim71’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Jesus, loving companion of Your children,
