I’m taking a test on Jane Austen’s “Persuasion” tomorrow, please pray.

My grandfather just started traveling across the country today, and was rear-ended just after departing. He is fine other than some cuts on his hands, but please pray for his safety on the rest of the trip. St. Christopher, pray for us.

Absolutely. That is my favorite of her novels. I know a lot of people think of it as difficult in that Mary and Henry Crawford are presented as attractive and yet are 'minds darkened, but thinking themselves light" and that Fanny is just too weak physically and too ‘perfect’ emotionally, but I still prefer Fanny (and Edmund). Fanny knows what is right and she sticks by it, even when she suffers for it (by refusing Henry and being misunderstood by Sir Thomas, sent to visit her family in Portsmouth and suffering for more than 3 months in a noisy household with little food to boot!) Edmund certainly wavers but it’s more that he sincerely believed that Mary had virtues that she did not (she was certainly mercenary, and while she was sincerely attracted to Edmund for Edmund’s sake, she would have wound up, had she married him, making him totally miserable, by little and little having him sacrifice his ideas of truth in order to satisfy her own needs and desires).

Good luck to you!

I´ll pray for you.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us, sinners, now and in the hour of our death. Amen

Pray to St Therese the Little Flower and the Holy Souls in Purgatory 🙂

St Therese, Vivat Christus is taking an important test. Please be with him and enable him to ace the test. Amen

Praying that you do your best on your test tomorrow. Hope it goes well for you.

Mary.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

For Help in Trials

Most holy apostle St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved Master into the hands of His enemies has caused you to be forgotten by many. But the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases–of things despaired of. Pray for me who feels so hopeless. Make use, I implore you, of that particular privilege accorded to you of bringing visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need, that I may receive the consolations and succor of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, in particular (Vivat Christus), and that I may bless God with you and all the elect throughout eternity. I promise you, O Blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will never cease to honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to do all in my power to encourage devotion to you. Amen.

Eternal Father, I offer the most precious blood of thy Divine Son Jesus,
in union with the masses said throughout the world today,
for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory,
for sinners everywhere,
for sinners in the Universal Church,
those in my home and within my family.
Amen

The test was last Friday, how did you do? In any case. . . . .

Apology and Thanksgiving Prayer
:signofcross:
Heavenly Father,
Creator of all and source of all goodness and love,
please look kindly upon us,
as we ask for forgiveness for not giving You thanks.
Please receive our heartfelt apology for the lack of gratitude.
Remind us at all times that You are always worthy of our thanks.

Thank You, Heavenly Father,
for all the graces and blessings
You have bestowed upon us:
our faith and religious heritage;
the Priests who bring us the Sacraments;
our life, food and shelter;
our health, the love we have for one another;
our Police Officers and Firefighters who keep us safe;
our Soldiers and Veterans who fight and fought for our Country;
our family and friends.
Thank You for the people You so generously send us;
…everything You grant us
…and of which we are not even aware.
Dear Father, in Your infinite generosity, please grant us the grace of having
…less “give me” and more gratitude throughout the coming
…years so that we may be aware that anything from You is good
…for You turn the “bad” into blessings for us.
Please Lord, grant us the grace of not forgetting that we can thank You
…over and over again for the same gift – and if we
…forget, may our Guardian Angel remind us.
Thank You, Lord.
I Love You, Lord.
Amen… …by Luz María

**Let Nothing Disturb You
Let nothing disturb you,
Let nothing frighten you,
All things are passing away:
God never changes.

Patience,
Obtains all things,
Whoever has God
Lacks nothing:
God alone suffices.

I offer this prayer again.

Prayer for Test-Takers

Almighty God and Father,
please help us in our examinations.
Help us to face them with courage,
steady in nerves and keen in mind.
Help us to understand the questions that are asked,
to remember all that we have studied,
and to express our answers accurately.
Lord, grant us success, if success is good for us,
For you know what is best for each one of us.
With loving trust therefore we say,
“Whatever the results, blessed be your holy will.”
We make this prayer in Jesus’ name. Amen.

:signofcross:

Thank you everyone for all the prayers. It didn’t go too great, but I don’t think it will bring my grade down much.
