For a marriage falling apart

Hi, A couple I know from church are getting divorced (most likely) and they are both Catholics so please pray for them to get back together and that they’ll at least think it over once more.
They have two children that will be affected by it, so please keep them in your prayers.

Prayers said for the couple that the word divorce shall be stricken from their vocabulary and they at least think it over one more time in that mode. A divorce attorney friend of mine told me that once the word “divorce” as an option creeps into your vocabulary and mind you’ll end up a client of a divorce attorney. An interesting thought

Praying that as Jesus was present at the marriage feast at Cana, that he will show his Presence to this couple and heal their hurts and guide them back to each other. I ask this in the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Holy Michael the Archangel defend us in the day of battle.
Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil.

Canon 1153 - a spouse must obtain a decree of separation from their local ordinary before moving out.

Canon 1692 - a spouse must get permission from the bishop to file for civil divorce.

Look them up. We are not Protestants. Tell you friends to learn what the Church teaches about separation. marysadvocates.org/terms/terms.html

Hi, thank you for posting:)

The main problem seems to be that the husband in this marriage has become an atheist over the years and that he for some time has been careless about his wifes and childrens catholic faith, but recently (the last year or so) he has begun to sabotage all religious Activity within the Family.

becouse of this he wants out of their marriage.
So to sum up: Canon Law isnt relevant for him I think as he is no longer considering himself to be a catholic.
At least he does not care about the Church or how they look at it.

All this info is from the wife of this relationship btw.

Its so sad when People loses their faith:(

Please keep praying for him, so he may get back home to the Church at some point.

Glory be to The Lord he has heared and answered our prayers!
A few months ago they decided to stay together rather than devorcing one anathor!
They still have their issues to work their way through, so please put in a prayer if you don’t mind:)
