Please pray for my friend Beatriz. She gave birth three weeks ago to her daughter, Olivia. She has some mile intellectual disabilities, though she works extremely hard as a certified nurses aid in a nursing home. Her fiancé’s family came together to help her get a car so she didn’t have to try to get her daughter to daycare on public transportation. She didn’t realize that in Missouri, when you buy a car you have to pay the sales tax to the DMV in cash. Because of the hospital bills and copays, she doesn’t have the money to pay the tax and the temporary tags are expired. She has very little credit and her parents are very narcissistic people. When she asked them for the money, they told her they were going to report her to the police for not having tags on her car and she would be arrested and they would take her baby. She’s been trying to find a legitimate place to give her a loan, but because her credit isn’t very high, and because she’s currently on leave, she hasn’t had any luck. Her doctor hasn’t cleared her to return to work, but she’s going to have to go back next week because she can’t afford anymore unpaid leave. Please pray for her! (And if anyone has any suggestions for helping her, I’m all ears!)

They were the first place I suggested and she called them and was told that they can’t help her. It’s probably a lot more than they’re used to giving. She offered to promise them her tax rebate, but they weren’t able to help.
 
Crowdfunding? has she got many friends from church who might donate?
 
Praying for your friend Beatriz and her financial situation with the new baby and the car. Tell her to pray, pray, pray for God to provide for her a way to remedy this. Can St. Vincent de Paul help in any way?

look upon Beatriz in this time
of weakness and unrest.

Teach her searching heart
to know that God’s Love
for her is unchanging and

true human love can only
begin and grow by touching
His Love.

Let your gentle Peace -
which this world cannot give
  • be always with her.
    And, help her to bring this
    same Peace into the lives
    of others.

Most holy apostle St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved Master into the hands of His enemies has caused you to be forgotten by many. But the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases–of things despaired of. Pray for me who feels so hopeless. Make use, I implore you, of that particular privilege accorded to you of bringing visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need, that I may receive the consolations and succor of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, in particular Beatriz, and that I may bless God with you and all the elect throughout eternity. I promise you, O Blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will never cease to honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to do all in my power to encourage devotion to you.
