This might sound weird, but someone was being rude to me somewhere online (not this forum) today and I randomly looked at their post history. This person is taking a lot of different drugs and thinks they are finding God and Christ through drugs. I’m really worried about the person just from reading the posts and my heart goes out. The person seems open to the fact that drugs are sinful and I’m talking a little about God’s love and His view on these things. But anyway please pray, just call them Y, it seems like a young person who is lost.

Lord Jesus, lead all souls to heaven
especially those most in need of thy mercy.

Our Father…Hail Mary x10
Glory Be…Fatima Prayer…Amen!

Divine Mercy Chaplet

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; He descended into hell; on the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Praying for Y.

As a former substance abuse counselor, I would ask Y how drugs help Y feel close to/discover God (if you don’t know this already). What made them decide drugs are the route to God? A specific experience? Euphoric feelings? Visions/hallucinations? How do they think God views drugs? Listen carefully and summarize back what they are saying because there is surely a reason for their beliefs. At some point (maybe in a follow up conversation) ask if there was ever a time when drugs made Y do/experience something negative that Y would not have done if not under the influence. In other words, anything that seems contrary to God or what might be considered sinful behavior. If they can’t think of anything, let it go for now but hopefully you’ll have planted a seed for them to think about if/when something negative happens. Praying for you and Y.

I wanted to add one more thing. You said rhe person is open to the idea that drugs may be sinful. Perhaps their rudeness to you is because they are already experiencing some conflict about drug use being sinful and any comments you may have made to that effect is increasing their internal conflict.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Prayer to St. Lydia of Thyatira

St. Lydia, you were the first convert St. Paul had. As a merchant of purple cloth, you were a prosperous and successful businesswoman. You are an inspiration to so many for your diligence, practicality, and willingness to embrace this new religion. Thank you for offering St. Paul and St. Timothy a place to stay, and for letting your home be the meeting place for Christians. Your house was an early church building!

St. Lydia, we humbly ask you to hear the petitions we present to you today, especially for MY, who is struggling with an addiction, searching for the truth. Please present these prayers to Jesus, and do not cease interceding for us until He answers with mercy. Pray also that we may be brave about our faith and be willing to share the mercy and love of God with all we meet. Amen.

St. Lydia, pray for us!

Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning is now ever shall be world without end
Amen.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy, hear and answer me. Amen
