Hi again Null,

I think you would be surprised, but Jesus rejoices every time that we go to confession.

He is also very happy when we go to see Him in Adoration, too.

He loves all of us, Null, especially sinners. Remember what He said–that He came for sinners.

Null, we can receive many things from God without “feeling” them. We can receive graces from God in our soul, without feeling them.

To me, what is important about you–from what I can see from your posts–is that you keep trying, and that you don’t give up. You fall, but then you get right back up again. That is a good thing.

I would encourage you to keep going to confession, and to Adoration, too.

Hang in there!

Hear this, Null! Satan wants nothing more than for you to give up. Fight the good fight. FORGIVE YOURSELF when you confess (Jesus has forgiven you). And move on to the next battle. Remember, winning the war is what you are after, even if you lose a few battles now and then.

Any time I go to Adoration (we have a Perpetual Adoration Chapel), I don’t feel any love from Jesus. I only feel unwelcome. I know I am not only a sinner, but a habitual unrepentant sinner, and I know that Jesus does not like my kind, and is very angry at me. So I know that I have no friendship with Jesus. Even after confession, my relationship with Jesus is very much like, we shake hands and say hi and talk about the whether when I pass the chapel, but that’s as far as it goes, because he’s really not over all the times I’ve wronged him, so it’s a very awkward relationship.
No offense meant, but your theology is all wrong. When you confess a sin, God forgets, as it were, that you ever committed it, a clean slate every time, how awesome is that, brother? Also, please quit comparing yourself to others, their spiritual state is actually none of your business, it’s between them and God. Lastly, where does the anger come from? Have you ever been in a situation where you anticipated someone’s reaction to you, you may have expected that they’d be happy to see you, and they barely acknowledged your presence, conversely, you think you’re on their “ignore list” and they look genuinely excited to see you? Bottomline: you can’t always trust your feelings, thoughts and perceptions. God loves you, is pleased when you avail yourself of means to get back in a state of grace, and wants you in Heaven with him eternally? I’ve often felt unloved and unwanted, the fifth wheel, so i know how easy it is to transfer these to God, but God is unlike anyone who treated you without the dignity, respect and consideration you deserve. Catholicism gives you the guarantee that should you die right after confession, you CANNOT miss Heaven. Who else on Earth can promise that?

That sounds nice and all, but when I literally say “it’s been 1 day since my last confession” 3 times in a row, I’m sure God is more upset than the priest who’s rolling his eyes and sighing, since God’s the one I’ve repeatedly offended, not the priest.

Hail Mary,
Full of grace,
The Lord is with Thee.
Blessed art Thou amoungst women,
And blessed is the fruit of Thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners,
Now and at the hour of death,
Amen

Then you need to get serious about wanting to not commit the sin again. Breaking a habit of 15 years is tough, in most cases, won’t be done overnight, but when you confess that sin, you need to have a firm resolve not to do it again. If you commit the solitary sin the very day you confess it, you may not have a firm intention to be done with it to begin with. if a week is all you can give at first, I’m sure God is okay with that, a day or less than a day is problematic in my opinion. The Christian walk is NOT the path of least resistance, my friend.

A miracle! An unrepentant sinner who knows the mind of Jesus, when all the most pious saints see as through a glass darkly! Well done! You say unrepentant. Yet in your first post you speak of a lifetime of struggle? Such unrepentance is ill-defined or unrecognised. He is not over your sins? Presumptuous to know the mind of God when all His teachings are that he is merciful to demand forgiveness seven times seventy; forgives the woman who had five husbands; forgives the woman caught in adultery before she even asks for it. Heals the sick to prove that He can forgive sins. Forgives the good thief even in His extreme suffering as one of His last acts before the resurrection.
You are the one in your despair that is refusing His handshake. You in your self pity are refusing the hug of a loving Father. Down that path lies doom. Grab His love in both hands and don’t rely on your “feelings.” Love is an act of the will.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

It is not easy to entrust oneself to God’s mercy, because it is an abyss beyond our comprehension. But we must! … “Oh, I am a great sinner!” “All the better! Go to Jesus: He likes you to tell him these things!” He forgets, He has a very special capacity for forgetting. He forgets, He kisses you, He embraces you and He simply says to you: “Neither do I condemn you; go, and sin no more” (Jn 8:11).
  • Pope Francis
“Even if the sins of soul are as dark as night, when the sinner turns to My mercy he gives Me the greatest praise and is the glory of My Passion. When a soul praises My goodness, Satan trembles before it and flees to the very bottom of hell.” 378)
  • Our Lord to St. Faustina
“The greater the sinner, the greater the right he has to my Mercy.”
-Diary of St. Faustina, 723)

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself. Amen.
