For a student in need

I work for our diocesan Catholic schools office, primarily with Spanish-speaking families interested in enrolling their children in a Catholic school. Sometimes this means being requested to assist at a school tour or parent/teacher conferences and interpret for parents who don’t speak a lot of English.

Anyways, I have helped one particular mother a few times, and have met her son twice. He is in middle school. This dear boy struggles academically in school and has had to go to a nearby public school for additional help in some subjects. Additionally, he has some difficulties expressing himself, and only says something after having it bottled up inside, so when it comes out, it’s more extreme (he seems to be at least somewhat depressed as well). His Catholic school is very supportive and is doing all they can to help.

I would just like to request prayers for this boy and his family. I can see how concerned the mother is. The boy seems like a very nice young man, but he just has some academic and emotional/mental struggles that put additional stress on him. I am not a mother myself, but I just feel so sad for him and for his mother, and helpless to do anything. His mother told me today that she believes very strongly in the power of prayer, so I thought, additional prayers can’t hurt. :o
