I posted a similar thread before and I didn’t complete the steps. This time I plan on going with an open heart instead of a closed mind. I truly just want the truth, whatever it may be. I’ve been down a long road to get to this point.

Are there any recommended prayers for me as a Catechumen to help with the process?

Welcome home. Praying to the Holy Spirit to give guidance, direction, strength, fortitude & wisdom on your RCIA process. God bless you on your RCIA journey.

*Blessed Cardinal Newman, you sought hard after the Truth, and when you found it, you came home to the Catholic Church. Despite fierce opposition and criticism, you held fast to the Catholic faith, for, as St. Augustine said in the passage you loved, “securus judicat orbis terrarum”, “the judgement of the whole world is secure!” You served the Church faithfully in your vocation, and left behind a treasure of wisdom in your writings that have helped many follow you into the fullness of Catholic truth.

Intercede now for all those who are beginning the process of joining the Holy Catholic Church. Assist them as they face opposition and criticism. Obtain for them all the graces they need for the journey ahead, that they may arrive at the Easter Vigil ready for the joy of receiving the Sacraments. Guide all who will journey with them as catechists, priests, and sponsors, that they may be filled with the Holy Spirit and with wisdom. We ask all of this for the greater glory of Jesus Christ our Lord, who reigns for ever and ever. Amen.*

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

†

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Praying that the Lord may guide you on your journey of Faith. Also praying for all necessary graces for you.

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.

I completed RCIA at Easter and we had three prayers we would do every week. The first was the Prayer to the Holy Spirit and it was said at the beginning of our small group. You will only benefit in this process with the Holy Spirit guiding you. I say the Prayer to the Holy Spirit before each mass and before I am going to study.

At the end of small group, we would say the Nicene Creed. It is always good to remind you what it is you will be professing.

After small group, we had a large group meeting for another hour. At the end of the large group, we would say Saint Michael’s Prayer. It is about him helping to keep evil away. This entire process is about good vs. evil and there will be spiritual warfare happening as the evil one does not want you to complete the process. Here they are:

Prayer to the Holy Spirit
Come Holy Spirit
Fill the hearts of the faithful
Enkindle in them the fire of your love
Send forth your Spirit and they
shall be created And you shall
renew the face of the earth
Let us pray,
O god who does instruct the
hearts of the faithful through
the light of the Holy Spirit,
Grant us the same spirit to be
truly wise and ever rejoice in His
consolation
Through Christ our Lord, Amen

Nicene Creed
I believe in one God, The Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the only Begotten Son of God,
born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made, consubstantial
with the Father;
Through him, all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven,
and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate
of the Virgin Mary, and became man.

For our sake, he was crucified
under Pontius Pilate,
he suffered death and was buried,
and rose again on the third day
in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead
and his kingdom will have no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son
who with the Father and the Son,
is adored and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
I believe in one, holy, catholic,
and apostolic Church.
I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins
and I look forward to the resurrection
of the dead and the life of the world to come.
Amen

Saint Michael the Archangel,
Defend us in battle.
Be our protection
against the wickedness
and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him,
we humbly pray;
and do Thou;
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
cast into hell, Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

***Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death
Amen.

I think the Rosary is one way to continue that process – of letting go and letting God.

kofc.org/un/en/resources/cis/devotionals/4772.pdf

Get a booklet like this one. I would print it out in color, and use those pictures to concentrate on those moments in the life of Jesus. You could also pray the rosary online, with groups, such as Come Pray the Rosary Web site. I think you’d love it as well. comepraytherosary.org/

God bless you and welcome home.
