That would be a difficult situation for everyone including the doctor who probably feels horrible for making the mistake. This is why I am not sure I could be a doctor. Praying for all involved and for healing, forgiveness and reconciliation between all parties. No sense in having more lives being ruined because of a mistake. Is that what her mother in heaven would want? I think not. She want all to be forgiven and for everyone’s salvation.
